HELLO TO OUR LOVELY MEMBERS ! to celebrate the concluding part to our winterfell storyline and to inspire new connections between characters , we thought we might have a little bit of fun with RANDOMIZED PAIRINGS — just give this post a like from now until saturday evening to be included ! and for those of you with more than one character , please reply to this post with which of your muses you’d like to have involved !!
THE MORNING AFTER IS QUIET . a gloom hangs thick in the air over the grounds of winterfell . gloom , yes , but something else too . suspicion. who killed the maester ? who set the tower ablaze ? who tried to kill the king - - the queen ? targaryen banners were found at the scene , but the culprit remains at large . winterfell remains LOCKED DOWN as the small councils of both kingdoms set to work. northerners sit with unrest upon their shoulders , looking for someone to blame . southerners cannot escape discomfort - strangers in a strange land . the festivities are over . is peace lost , too ?
welcome to the soft reboot re-opening of brokencrownsrp ! at this point , the plot will progress following the attack at the coronation ( see the link above to find the relevant plot drop ). winterfell is still locked down - for the time being , characters cannot travel outside of the castle boundaries without a guard or escort. during this time, guests of the coronation will be questioned by northern investigators trying to get to the bottom of the attack. tensions have escalated significantly between targaryen & stark rulers. plot drops will continue to guide the plot forward, but at this point our plot still remains located in winterfell.
be sure to tag all starters with the appropriate starter tags ! private / plotted starters are welcome at this time, but be sure that no open starter goes unnoticed. our official reopening time will be at 12pm est on friday , january first ! thank you for hanging in there during this reboot phase , we cannot thank you enough , and look forward to all of the exciting developments your characters make in the coming days & weeks.
THE FESTIVITIES END IN AN INSTANT.
all revelry ceases , immediately replaced with urgency & darkness . a toast is called - to the health and prosperity of king edric & his queen . northern lords pound heartily on the tables , and southern guests raise a glass with a polite nod of their head . freyja takes her husband’s hand , lifts it , and places a kiss to it before acknowledging the crowd . she smiles , a bright over-compensation for a family in grief , until the sound of coughing , gasping , overtakes the room . a serving girl screams , her hand outstretched as the young man tasked with tasting the libations of the stark family turns blue in the face . princess joanna rushes to his side , trying to comfort the boy , to do something before the life leaves his body entirely .
THERE IS NOTHING BUT SILENCE .
the crowd looks to the king & queen , wondering which ruler was the intended recipient of poison , and then to each other , wondering who had arranged to see another stark sovereign dead within his own borders. the realization that a murderer walks among them hangs heavy in the air .
AND SO DOES THE SCENT OF SMOKE .
outside , comes the scream of lady marina , the first to notice another troubling sight. smoke billows from the maester’s tower. a dark sky is painted black by a murder of ravens set free into the night . lord brannon , thankfully nearby , attempts to rescue the maester , but the flames are too dangerous. the maester is lost to the blaze . his body will later be recovered , clutching a charred targaryen flag in his hand. winterfell goes on lockdown. suddenly , it seems , no one is safe . suddenly , it seems ,
PEACE IS NO LONGER AN OPTION .
this is the event - ending plot drop for our first event ! you may use this information to guide new interactions . winterfell is now on lockdown . no one may enter or leave the grounds without express permission or the accompaniment of an armed guard. while a targaryen flag was found at the scene of the fire , no one has yet been indicted with any charges ( for the fire or the assassination attempt ). the crowned prince & princesses ( edric & freyja’s children ) have been confined to their rooms , and other children have been moved to a centralized location where they can be guarded. tensions are extremely high , and the small councils of both kingdoms are tasked with unearthing ( or concealing ) the perpetrators .

BROKENCROWNS EVENT: 001
when the crown was planted on top of the young king’s head, followed by his queen, the northern kingdom erupted with cheers. while the days beforehand had been fraught with tension and amusement alike, the shadow of king brandon looming large, this day was for celebrating. the morning went by in a flash. the day, filled with tournaments, was a blur. but when evening came, the real festivities would begin. the king will greet his subjects, and his honored guests for the first time - fully realized as the sovereign of these lands.
as darkness falls over the keep and the weather outside cools, thick flakes of snow fall from dark skies above. the great hall opens to the nobility of north and south. outside the keep, on field and in tent, drink and food is shared between houses. songs erupt from firesides, while wine pours freely. a large fire sits in a pit in the center of the great hall. the high table, seating the starks and targaryens, overlooks a sea of heads, seated at long tables. music plays from a balcony behind. the tables are filled with food and drink, and space has been provided for dancing.
servants gracefully maneuver between the starks’ guests, refilling cups and filling plates. the hall is filled with voices that murmur - a low hum that is everywhere, as stories are shared, jokes are told, friends meet. moments like these make continued peace feel like more realistic venture …
THIS IS BROKENCROWNS’ first event ! the event itself will be a feast / banquet taking place in the evening following the new king’s coronation. everyone will be gathered under the same roof to “celebrate” the coronation of the king of the northern kingdom. the event will also be accompanied by a mid-point plot drop ! for the sake of plot progression through the course of the event , the event will begin saturday, november 21st at 12pm est and run tentatively through wednesday, december 3rd. you do not need to abandon old threads, and may continue them at any time. don’t forget to tag your starters with both the starter tag and the events tag ! members, please like this post after you have read it

NOT ADMIN CARLIE COMING IN HOT with another admin message ! hello my loves , thank you to those of you who have already completed the input survey that was posted earlier today. your feedback is still coming in, but has already proven to be so useful in our understanding of how things are going for you all, and how we can continue to make this space the wonderful pace that it is. i have two things to address in this post , one , a gentle ( but serious ) reminder, and two , the introduction of a new feature on the main !
ONE . this is another reminder that bubble rp of any kind is not tolerated within our group. while it may feel at times more comfortable to plot and write within certain character groups or with certain individuals, it is imperative that you are inclusive both in your plot and your writing. it is your responsibility to be inclusive - some of the best plots come from unexpected places ! IF A COMPLAINT OF SPECIFIC BUBBLE ROLEPLAYING IS BROUGHT TO ADMINS , admins will review the situation and any individuals and intervene appropriately. if you have specific concerns, please come to an admin about it so we can try to eliminate the feeling of exclusion for anyone. i know how welcoming and lovely you all are , so continue to get plotting & expand your writing horizons. reply to open starters, respond to plotting messages, and make your best effort !
TWO. we are thrilled to be announcing a new feature of the main. for right now, i’m calling it our favorite things ! this weekly post will be an opportunity to uplift and celebrate your fellow members. every week, we will ask you to submit some of your favorite lines from the threads, headcanons, or meme responses of your fellow members. we will compile these into a post, and celebrate our stellar writers weekly. our favorite things will begin today , so start sending in those lines via the submit .

hello everyone ! we just wanted to hop on here and say thank you for all the support we received yesterday after our posts yesterday. we’re so grateful to you all & happy for the community we’ve been here at broken crowns <3
OOF, TWO ADMIN NOTES IN ONE DAY? okay, but in all seriousness, this is an important one ! carlie & i have been discussing a few things, and we’ve decided to forego activity checks for the time being. you can read more about it on our guidelines page ( check the source! ) but essentially, we’ll be doing interest checks instead. once every two weeks we’ll be messaging our members & seeing if they’re still interested in writing with us. if they don’t answer within 48 hours, then we’ll post an unfollow. we just think that with all of the hecticness of the world, we want to take the pressure of an official activity check away so that our members can take their time when they need to. we’ll be sending our first round of messages tomorrow, so members, keep an eye out !
