Yesterday was rough. It was my brothers last day in town. I raced the cat 3/4 spring series race in prospect park at 6:45am. No results there, but I put in a hard effort for 35 miles. After the race, Don, my bro and I met up with intentions of riding to croton dam. Usually the trip there is made on paved and dirt trails, and is generally an easy ride. The trails are covered in ice and snow, so we had to make up our own route on main roads. Much of the ride ended up being a bunch of punchy climbs. Not to mention it was freezing and windy the whole way. I ended up just over 100 miles for the day. I definitely want to do this ride again, but not after a race, and not in the winter. It would be great to re-visit now that I know what to expect!
