My ★★ review of Licorice Pizza (2021) on Letterboxd:
Give me pineapple pizza any day over this, because Licorice Pizza tastes uncomfortably bitter.
Monkey Man | Official Trailer 2
Synopsis
Inspired by the legend of Hanuman, an icon embodying strength and courage, Monkey Man stars Patel as Kid, an anonymous young man who ekes out a meager living in an underground fight club where, night after night, wearing a gorilla mask, he is beaten bloody by more popular fighters for cash. After years of suppressed rage, Kid discovers a way to infiltrate the enclave of the city’s sinister elite. As his childhood trauma boils over, his mysteriously scarred hands unleash an explosive campaign of retribution to settle the score with the men who took everything from him.

#Mira-Marathon | Ghostbusters
Film Name: Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021); Production Studios: Columbia Pictures, Sony Pictures Releasing, BRON Studios, Ghostcorps, The Montecito Picture Company; Director by: Jason Reitman; Screenwriter: Gil Kenan, Jason Reitman, Ivan Reitman; Starring: Mckenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard, Carrie Coon, Paul Rudd, Logan Kim; Genres: Science Fiction, Fantasy, Adventure, Comedy; Running Time: 2 hours 4 minutes;
"Ghostbusters: Afterlife" is a charming sequel, marked by pleasant humor and nostalgia. The new generation of Ghostbusters adds freshness, but the plot may seem less original. With impressive special effects and touching moments, it's worth a watch for fans of the original series.

Worst: that it is ridiculously over the top... go figure 😆
Bron Studios — the British Columbia-based company behind award-winning 2017 film Fences — turns its eye on animated features with The Willoughbys, based on a book of the same name by Lois Lowry (The Giver).
Casting announcements include Maya Rudolph, Ricky Gervais, Martin Short, Jane Krakowski, Sean Cullen and Terry Crews. Animation World Network reports more on the plot:
Published in 2010, the story follows the four Willoughby children -- Tim, Jane and the twins, Barnaby A and B. When abandoned by their selfish parents, they must embark on a wild adventure through the modern world, colliding with a cat, an orphan, a nanny and a candy mogul, to reunite with the “family they were born into,” only to discover along the way the value of love in the “family they choose.”
Kind of like the “family you choose” in another Terry Crews-starring production...
While Bron’s previous experience with animation remains only a few unpromising 45-minute productions of a Mighty Mighty Monsters series on Amazon, the leadership on The Willoughbys is more encouraging.
Writer/Director Kris Pearn brings experience from Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs (Head of Story) and its sequel (Co-Director); Aardman’s Arthur Christmas, Shawn the Sheep and Pirates: Band of Misfits; DreamWorks Animation’s Home, and Open Season and Surf’s Up, according to Animation World Network.
Co-Director Cory Evans brings less apparent experience, with IMDb credits on DreamWorks’ Joseph: King of Dreams and some kind of 2011 Voltron show called Voltron Force.
