Holy Crap, I Think I Learned Something!

Well, it's debatable  on what I mean by "learned", but hear me out.

All right, so I was watching Tommy Oliver's latest QnA vid, and he was talking about how the reactions to Twilight's status are incongruent throughout the series. Well, something occurred to me-

We know that, at least distantly, the creators of MLP are listening to the fans- and I do mean distantly. But, with reappearances of characters like Derpy and such, they are pandering to us to some degree. And what was out biggest complaint when Twilight became a princess last season? That things would be different from the old formula. Basically, we were fretting about how everything would have to be different between Twilight and her friends because she was royalty.

And now, hear we are in season four, and... it's not. True, there are a couple episodes that her rank is important, but otherwise, it's business as usual. Maybe, like the Derpy cameo, the reason they started writing Twilight like this was to ease our concerns about that, but... Now? Well, we're getting let down by our own past wishes. Twilight is a princess, and she should damn-well be treated as such.

But, then again, I could be dead wrong, and totally over-thinking this. All I know is that was the feeling I got from the community when Twilight first ascended. Now, I'm getting the feeling that we're doing a 180 on our stance from last season. What do you guys think?
