She was shaking, hyperventilating, sweating, crying... She felt lost, but tried to focus... focus on Spot... Focus on Spot's voice, she told herself. But that was much easier said than done. If there was anybody that she didn't want to look weak in front of, it was Spot. Spot was always so tough... She didn't want to disappoint him. She could be his tough girl... She could be what he expected her to be... right?
But not tonight. Tonight, she was breaking, and all because of one stupid nightmare. Well, not just a nightmare. Any other nightmare would have been fine, preferable even. But going back to the Refuge in her sleep was like walking back into Hell, simply because she couldn't stop her unconcious mind from taking her there.
She whimpered and shook her head. "N-no... No, st-stop..." Reality was hard to focus in on, almost like she couldn't tear the two realities apart. Maybe that's why her nightmares of the place were so utterly horrifying and captivating... Because she couldn't really escape to reality afterwards, because the Refuge was part of her reality, and she couldn't get the damn place out of her head. She put her hands over her ears, strangely like she was trying to block sound. "Spot, I can't..."
