Boy i have some doozies from my time as a Shome Shopping Shetwork call representative. Let's start with the simplest but most frustrating. The old people that have absolutely no idea how a credit card works. "i just need the three numbers on the back" *reads the pin* "no, the numbers that are in small text on the back of your card" *reads the pin again* "It should be three numbers, on the back of your card" *reads me the last four digits of the card, the exp date, the number of their address* 😬
Ok so i was on your blog and i kept seeing Kaiju/Pacific Rim stuff and i had an idea. GamJane Pacific Rim AU. Just... The last person Jane expected to be compatible with was this goony, easily-distracted, sleepy, clowny guy who wore pajama pants to official meetings, but here they were.
tbh having two loser jokester children trying to pilot a giant war machine, I think they’d stuff up quite a bit at first before they manage to sync with each other properly
Like I would wager she’d hope she was compatible with Jake at first or something but that poor boy doesn’t mesh well with her as we already saw in canon, so I could imagine him acting fitting pretty well with John or Rose? Since he’d need a firm hand to help him grow into himself and to call him out when he does shit, but at the same time not one as intense as Dirk and John and Rose fit that. But she would be :/ over it and unhappy and then they tell her she has to try Drifting with the weirdo clown who wears paint because they need more pilots
Gamzee however just lets abuse and quarrels roll off him like water off a duck’s back, so there is a lot less conflict around his Drifting but somehow he still just won’t sync with some people? Which baffles some people, since you’d figure from his personality you could pair him with everyone and it’d work but somehow it just...doesn’t. Like you can strong arm him into stuff- like think of how Caliborn did it -but that really doesn’t Drift well since it knocks everyone out of sync. He’s also super hard to make focus, so he’d chase the rabbit more often than not, especially if who he’s paired with has an interesting past he’ll just be like ‘look at this shit’ and forget what he’s doing. but at least they’d probably be able to relate thru their humour- if anything that’d be the thing that lets them sync the first time
Probably the main issue those two would have is leadership tho- like Jane would have to get more comfortable with taking the lead and guiding them, as Gamzee is very much a sheep aka he’s way more keen with just following along. So at the start Jane would just be like ‘oh shit, do we attack the kaiju head on???? or wait until we can do a surprise attack from the back???’ and Gamzee would just be like ‘hahaha yeah’
More Shome Shopping Shetwork, from my absolute worst customer: "don't you dare transfer me and say that it's not your job because i know it is and you just don't want me to be your problem but I'm not going to wait on hold for you idiots to stop messing up" lady, it's literally not in my job description, i can't handle returns and refunds, I'm just a seasonal clerk that isn't in that department, also calm tf down
Last Shome Shopping Shetwork and the reason i left: managers, you don't care about is getting our 1% bonus on extra items we sell. You care that we're not making the company that much extra money, and padding out your numbers for your much more significant bonus. Also the system is jacked up because you don't take into account that these items are being marketed together, so the items recommended to go with the one I'm currently entering, is already on their order and doesn't count. Idiots.
