Faith Lehane grinned wickedly as she wiped the sweat off her brow with the sleeve of her jacket, spinning and driving her stake into the nearest vampire. He exploded in a shower of dust, and Faith shook it off, rolling across the ground to get to some higher ground and survey the scene.
Not too far away, she sighted her brother, who was holding his own against a few vamps himself. She could still hardly wrap her mind around having a sibling, after going through life on her own for so long. It didn't seem completely real yet. Like she'd wake up and find out he didn't really exist and was just a product of her fevered mind. But then, she always thought she'd wake up and still be in that hospital bed, in a coma unable to move or even really think.
But he was here and real and someone that actually cared about her. It was still startling and new and Faith didn't know if she should allow herself to trust it. "Hey Chris!" she called, trying to get his attention. "Need any help over there?" She was about to run down the ridge towads him anyway, eager for some more action when she felt something jab into her neck from behind. "Mother fucker," she ground out, holding her neck and turning. She just caught a small sight of a demon before her vision went blurry and she dropped to the ground.
