you think i’m bad? you should meet my sisters.
there was... a lot to swallow. so much so no heimlich manoeuvre would save her from this choke hazard. once the pair had calmed down after their rather emotional reunion, she got a rundown of events from the past few days, and the year before. honestly, she couldn’t recall the last time she’s seen so much tears and snot come from her sister ( she admittedly had done the same ), but for a moment pandora shut off and it was just them. them. this time, it was their turn to flip pandora off, you haven’t killed us yet.
at the request for a vault hunter, clementine’s face turns thoughtful, curling a finger beneath her chin. ❝ – there’s... one. ❞ her face quickly turns to dismay, almost regrettable.
❝ – the others are not here right now. ❞

“I went a little overboard sure… but I’m still alive. So shh.”
❝ – you nearly die. and you’re shushing me. ❞ had she expected anything else from her sister? no. was it a believable factor that they were laughing to cover the complete reality that their trio would of turned into a duo? yes. and that’s how it’s always been, a close scrape wasn't exactly abnormal, hell, she could recall a few of her own on one hand-- well, she would have to use her other hand to count up to five, her pinky promise days were over for her right hand. sasha’s stunt... had certainly been her closest yet, their closest to experience a heartache she dreaded to think, feel.
clementine watches sasha struggle for a moment, small fingers poke out from a cast and waggle pitifully trying to complete the task of holding the jar still, typica sasha, nearly die? nothing a sandwich can’t fix, but with just one working arm, they were going to be here a while. until she had enough and she reaches across, snatching it easily from her digits and opening it with an easy pop. ❝ – overboard? you took the whole ship with you. ❞
30, 38, and 50 for the BL questions!
30. Favorite quote from your favorite character?
I’m glad it specifies “from your favorite character” because if I had to track down my favorite quote, period, I’d be here all night.
Couple of choices. First, from Zer0′s personal ECHO:
“Just TELL me what you want!” “For you to fight back. Bandits like you are easy—I want a challenge.”
To me, it seems like Zer0′s got this furious, desperate, self-destructive need to outpace boredom by challenging themself—and if the fact that they flew to a place like Pandora, without even knowing about the vaults, says anything, it seems like they’re highly likely to do stupid, dangerous things in pursuit of SOMETHING to alleviate that boredom. (Not to mention casually kill people.) And there’s, to me, something really interesting and really sad in Zer0′s desperate solo flight from ennui.
They’ve got several quotes asking for a challenge and complaining about boredom that I coulda chosen for that point; I picked that one because there’s somehow something even sadder and even more horrifying about the fact that they’re standing over some guy, preparing to kill him, and yet they’re boiling over with frustration because this murder wasn’t difficult enough.
Second favorite quote:
“Oh, what? Yeah, what, bitch? Yeah, I just slapped you and stuff. What you gonna do?“
I feel like that one doesn’t need an explanation lol.
38. A character you wish you could play as?
On the one hand, I’m like, Tiny Tina would be cool. She’s one of the few not-yet-playable characters who’s a certified badass with some known combat-oriented skills (as opposed to “certified badass but we don’t get much of a sense for their fighting style,” like Sir Hammerlock—who would probably be my next choice except for that detail). On the other hand, I’m like, Tiny Tina is kind of best in small doses. Would I be able to handle a full game with Tina in my ear?
Then again I played a whole game as Claptrap sooo
50. A scene in the games that is always stuck in your head no matter what?
Nothing wrenches my heart more than the fight against Felicity. And it doesn’t help that if you’re playing as Claptrap, he makes an peppy, ironic little quip about how it must be awful to be reprogrammed into a death machine, considering that that’s happened to him a couple of times now. There’s something particularly cruel/horrifying about sending a robot that’s been a repeat victim of Hyperion’s military brainwashing to do the same to a new robot.
… Honorable mention goes to the Hyperion finger-gun massacre in tftbl.
“ t—that’s… the smile… i was hoping to see… ”
after the damage .
↳ (x)
her breath shudders at her words, the smile leaving like dirt under a tap. one moment it was there, the next it was gone. it was hard, so very hard to muster a smile when her sister laid below her with mangled insides and the glimmer of red peeking on her lips, she didn’t want to look but her shining eyes found themselves on them. ❝ – don’t-- ❞ her head shakes, only to be quelled by fingers coming to her wet cheeks.
instinctively she leans, her head tilting into her sister’s hand as the weight proved too much, the reality of the coming loss laid before her and if she were standing, her knees would of gave way. clementine had lifted a hand, it brushes up the back of sasha’s, it was soft, but she recognised the nicks and dents that never quite left, one from the time her hand got caught in the caravan door, she could remember the sharp, loud cuss that came from the other side of the door clear as day. what a stupid memory to think of now, she scolds herself. and that’s what sasha will be. a memory. it only brings fresh tears, warm rivulets form down her face as she struggles to keep another sob in.
❝ – please, don’t -- ❞
@broughtinthemark
Knowing her, she had probably had long moved on. He knew why she did it, but it didn’t make it any less painful. If he were in her shoes, he probably would have done the same thing.
August on he other hand, had not moved on. He still wasn’t quite over their breakup. Though he had been played, he had fallen for her hard. Running the Purple Skag just wasn’t the same without her.
“Is it true, Sasha?”, he grimaced, trying to come to grips with reality. “Have you really found...someone else?”
“An eye for an eye, right?”
As the shots died down, the silence rang loud in his ears, breath heaving quickly, too quickly through his lungs as he tried to convince himself that it’s over, I won’t die. Not here, I promised, not here.
It was only when he heard her voice that he began to believe it. A muffled shout across the battlefield jabbed at his awareness, and he slowly removed his hands from his ears. His heart thumped and he could taste blood as he shifted thighs sore from crouching to peer over the top.
The bandit stared back at him. Or– more accurately, half of the bandit stared back at him. One eye was blasted outward from the back of his head, a bloody glare directly opposite from where he hid - the arm, still raised, clutching a bladed pistol that had been destined to end his life.
Uwe stared, dumbfounded, as the body drifted sideways, still upright from his last few moments of consciousness - and landed with a soft and grisly ‘thunk’.
“An eye for an eye, right?” Her voice shook, and Uwe realised it had come far closer than he’d ever imagined.
“You take this rather literally, Sasha.”
He pulled himself to his feet - and smiled. A small, soft smile - but a smile nonetheless.“How did they get past you all?”
@broughtinthemark ❤’d for a starter!!
It had to be one of those times? Really? He had grown weak incredibly so. Ever since he was little his body seemed like it was deteriorating each and every day. It was getting to the point of each large event would take all of his energy. After giving a rather flashy display in the nearest town of Hollow Point, he had found it hard to return back to the building they were camped out in. His feet dragged and his tired state looked as if he was drunk. He wasn’t paying attention and so when he ran into the woman turning the corner he nearly fell over. Though with quick thinking his robotic arm reached out, grabbing the nearest light pole and balancing himself back up, for the girl however he couldn’t say the same. After all, he was a tall lumbering mass of flesh and metal.
