January 31, 2022 - Brown-capped Redstart or Brown-capped Whitestart (Myioborus brunniceps)
Found in Andean forests in Bolivia and northwestern Argentina, these redstarts were formerly grouped with Tepui Redstarts as a single species. They eat insects and probably other small arthropods, foraging alone or in small groups and sometimes joining mixed-species flocks. They build spherical nests with side entrances on the ground in hollows on banks, from plant debris, decaying leaves, grass, and other materials.
