Morpheus had never been one to believe in the Fates lines, in their designated paths created at birth. Granted, he was a creature beyond the reach of their bony fingers, but even with mortals he saw their lack on impact. He had never been one to believe that the universe, as a whole, found him lacking - in whatever department it deemed so - enough to bestow upon him a living, breathing test of his willpower and patience.
But it had, and as he stared at the boy, he couldn’t help but wonder whose mind he had walked into and messed with to be gifted with such... a gift. And as he stared, watched the other, he knew his penance could have been a whole lot worse. Perhaps it was their time spent together, but Mo had felt he understood the boy enough to not want to kill him every, single day.
Conversation was cut short, the only evidence being the voice that had been loudly demand their terms on the other end finally falling silent. The phone remained in his hand, resting against his lap as he leaned back in his seat.
“Do they think me stupid,” he questioned, more confused than concerned, but after a quick moment, his attention found the other once more, realizing the opportunity he had just given the other. “Careful words, pet.”
