Bruises Verse!Leo vs Distanced Learning
Bruises!Leo’s continued twitter adventures
MattLeo + Bruises Verse
Matthew Scott dedicated nearly seven years of his life to SHIELD, working in labs and developing tech. When one of the few people he started to grow attached to left to join a field team, he started to care less and less - until he left, just in time, narrowly avoiding the organization’s fall. Five years and a hundred or so bottles of whiskey later, he was finally living the life he’d intended. He had a small apartment in a rainy town, a steady job at the local library, and he’d kicked his liquor addiction, far away from any reminders of SHIELD. Or, at least most of them.
Leopold Fitz Radcliffe left SHIELD within weeks of leaving the Framework. He had too many regrets, too many memories from a world and a life that no longer existed, and he couldn’t get a proper break to process everything else he’d learned surrounded by people who knew him too well. He disappeared, only to pop up again two years later with a new name, a new job, and a new life. It was less of a risk, being at the front of a classroom instead of on the frontlines of whatever battle SHIELD would have made him fight in.
Smut prompts 66 + MattLeo
thank you for requesting the boys they make me happy! also I know you got some of my babbles about this but it really is soft for no good reason except for the fact that they are soft. also it wasn’t supposed to be this long but it’s 2k so........ I’m sorry?
66. I think that’s the first time I’ve heard you moan…it was like a fucking melody.
There was something about finding someone again, picking up almost right where they left off and continuing the almost they'd had so many years before. It was something without a name, a warmth that filled a space where Leo didn't even realize he was cold. And, when one date finally turned into more, and plans expanded beyond dinner and a movie, he felt everything else in his life shift and settle back into place around it.
Going out with Matt once a week didn't mean he had to give up any part of his job, or his friendships, or even change the schedule he'd set up for his weekly sessions. It was just another piece of normalcy that fit so easily into the life he'd built for himself, and he liked it - he liked the happiness that it brought, he liked not being alone for another night every week, he liked the new routine, even when it had variances.
While their first few dates since their reunion had been dinner and an occasional movie, and then a walk during one of the afternoons when Leo's school was on break, and then seeing a play put on at the local community theater, they all ended the same way. They enjoyed their time together, bid goodbye, and went back to their respective apartments alone. It wasn't like their first, the one back at the Academy, the one where he got to see how his date lived and be invited into his space, the one where he'd spent every day up until they left for the Bus regretting not leaning in for a kiss when he had the chance.
( and he knew he should give that copy of Gatsby back, the one that was on some shelf somewhere among his things, but he never had time to search for it, or forgot to look when he did, or saw it for just a second and then it was gone again when he went to grab it on his way out the door )
Happy WIP Wednesday, friend! Give an out of context spoiler for one of your WIPs; this could be a meme, a reaction image, a line or text, an aesthetic image, whatever you want! 💙💙💙
Kayti, you know exactly what I’m going to put here.
An out of context Bruises Verse spoiler:
Fuck Craig all my homies hate Craig
and then this is a no context spoiler for when I get around to writing more of Take It Out On Me:
And I actually made gifs of a joke from the Hydra AU that has yet to make it into any fic yet:
Oop it's Wednesday apparently, it's WIP Wednesday, y'all! So, it's later in the day than intended because I forgot what day it was (that bank holiday on Monday got me fucked up), so let's do an easy one this week. Did you have a favorite line you wrote this week? Something that you're super proud of? Some description or dialogue that you want to show off? 💙💙💙
Happy WIP Wednesday Thursday!
One day, I’ll actually answer one of these before half the world isn’t in Wednesday anymore, I swear.
Before I actually answer this, I want to give an honorable mention to the canon dialogue I put in parentheses the other night. Very proud of that. Very sad about the implications. However....... that’s not technically my writing? So, I’ll give you a real answer.
All I’ve been working on this week is my upcoming Bruises Verse fic for February Fic Fest, and I’m just being sad about Fitz 24/7 he’s still Fitz at this point of that AU and it’s weird and I kind of hate it thank you but I set up this metaphor about how there’s this idea of what family is supposed to be in his head and it’s one of these pillars that’s holding up the idea of who he is, and:
The pillar that held up part of him cracked and crumbled, but not enough to discourage him, not enough to fall. No, his idea of family was stronger than that, strong enough to make him let his guard down, even when he knew he shouldn't.

💯💯💯💯💯
i wrote 600 words because i got carried away with my thoughts again oops. but have some flashback stuff for funsies!
Fitz closed the window as quickly as it had opened, his fingers trembling while he stared at the still open folder on the screen. His name in the corner seemed too clear, like the pixels had been arranged too perfectly to be real. Because, if it was real, that would mean something he couldn't face, couldn't put into words when all of the memories from within the Framework seemed too real. He needed reality to slow down so that he could sort out the illusion, and if anyone else in SHIELD saw those files, it would only keep moving too fast for him to handle.
[ for every 💯 i’ll write 100 words and post my favorite part ]

i’m supposed to be making an outline so this actually has a plot, but am i doing that? no, i’m simply making myself framework sad
( she'd been his support system when things got hard, when the family forged in blood proved to be more of a disappointment than he'd ever imagined. she was his family when no one else dared to get close enough. )
[ for every 🎁 i’ll write 5 sentences and share 1 ]
