I was in the middle of drawing more fanart for @rydoesartandstuff fic after my last post when I got the email that they updated.

Ive never dropped my sketchbook and pull up ao3 so fast in my life

Uh spoiler warning: I cried. Very gut wrenching and it actually had me shaking with anticipation due to the major climax of the story [not really gonna spoil it lol]

Let's start off when John got his colors back for a split second while making music with Branch (i didnt get to draw him in)

I really liked how John was completely oblivious to his colors coming back but did admit to feeling "something" while Branch was trying his best to keep his composure bc its been like, what, almost 20 years since hes seen his colors and also bc he let his grief go for those few minutes

So, I needed to gather back into drawing the rest of the bros bc its been.......a while since I drew them.

This takes place in Chapter 160 when they all, first, get a good look at JD in the diamond. Taking in how....different their older brother looks. Not just because of the grey.

Like, imagine seeing your big brother, the one who'd always stand tall and proud who'd always protect you and was always there to comfort you, look so.........weak

Its unnerving.

Its not right.

He'd always bounce back. He'd always fight back. His stubbornness would NEVER let him give up.

And yet, he lay so still in that diamond prison. Like he'd just.....accepted it.

Hickory was NOT easy to draw

I need these two to have a nice LONG embrace once Johnny boy gets out of his diamond prison. And to kiss already (who said that??)

Nah, but seriously, I can definitely see Hickory picking John up once he finally sees him again. [I was listening to 'Legendary Lovers' while drawing the first pic] i might redraw it bc im not really liking how it came out.

I was going to try n make a comic of the scene where Branch snaps at his brothers or where the brothers are all trying to get John out of the crystal. Idk, we'll have to see

The older brothers decided to end the band instead of continuing it. Their reason why was due to their Metal half began to show when each of them entered their first growth cycle ((normally at the age of 10 (unlike Bough who had his growth cycle at the age of 14)).

Before they both looked and sounded like Pop trolls but after their first cycle, their closest friends and the other trolls behave differently around them. At first, they didn't understand why, although they are the same troll.

When their final concert comes along, John Dory asks his brothers if they wanted to 'break up the band'. Without hesitation, Bruce and Clayton agreed with their eldest brother. It took a while for Floyd to agree with his eldest.

The final concert went well and unfortunately, the brothers decided to go their own path. So, in the middle of the night, they said their goodbyes to each other and... Went their separate ways. Prior to their separation, Floyd wrote a letter for their Nana and little brother, Branch, explaining where they are heading to and how much they love them.

20 years later, they reunited though each of them physically changed that matched their current home. The older brothers didn't have any bad blood between them yet they brought up how the other brother treated them.

The two brothers who lock horns the most are John Dory and Clayton during their journey to save their baby brother. A couple disputes were based on how much they actually know their baby brother. John Dory tried to end their dispute by loudly speaking his mind while Clayton yelled his words for John Dory to understand.

Their brothers and Bough's found family separate them from each other when things begin to heat up.

Until John Dory remarked how Branch was doing great in life and this finally made Clayton snapped. He revealed to him, Bruce, and Floyd that their little brother wasn't 'doing great in life' and said that their brother doesn't remember them at all.

Bruce and Floyd were taken aback by Clayton's words unlike John Dory, who was calling his little brother's words a bluff and didn't agree with him. This made Clayton furious and pounced at John Dory. While the two Metal brothers clash; they bite, slash, and punch each other. They promptly stopped when Thorns stepped in and was swiftly caught by an incoming slash from John Dory directly at his right shoulder.

Thorns sharply squeaked in pain as he touched his new wound afterwards. John Dory immediately apologized to Bough's friend and yelped in surprise when Thorns grabbed his beard. Thorns stated that he and his crew will go their own way to save their friends without them. He sternly told Rhonda to stop and let go of John's beard as he, Havoc, and Frontier made their way out of Rhonda.

Clayton breathlessly watched his little crew's friends exit Rhonda and without another word, he followed after them.
