A Magical Day

Three hundred sixty five days in a year, they can hold significance for any number of reasons; their importance varying from date to date. Today is important because of you, your arrival on another August the 18th. While some years have passed, the magic that was created that day is still as strong and undeniable as it was then.

Life has not been easy, but the bright light that only the sun can match still exudes from every bit of you. Oh how remarkable you are, the strength and ferocity that emanates out of you is impossible to ignore; for even feeling emotions as deeply as you do, being let down or misunderstood, you retain the hope that dreams may come true. Hope that allows you to sing when you’re alone, to find joy at the sight of a frog, and create beautiful succulent arrangements that nurture the soul. You move forward, courageous and firm in your resolve, not compromising your beliefs for anyone. You command respect and show no tolerance for those that fail to show it (they should know better).

You’re bewitching, bold and charismatic, your presence on any level requires adoration and submission at its feet; accompanied by that wonderful sense of humor that can make anyone cackle from witnessing it.

Your beauty is the icing on the cake.Those eyes that demand acknowledgement, the deep brown threatening to suck you in for all eternity. The entirety that is you, the softness, the curvatures, the marks of history on your skin, the warmth. You are magnificent.

A kinder life, days full of love, adoration, chivalry, and complete devotion. That is my demand for the universe, that your future is full of quiet moments of reading with your love, sunny days by the seaside surrounded by safety and comfort. Love, undeniable, unquestionable, unwavering, love.

Wishful Sight

It’s the eyes, they can describe so much, show the anger, frustration, and worst of all, the pain. Seeing them cry was a punch to the gut, a reminder that life is toughest on those that deserve it least.

  Now, a few days removed, days of silence and uncertainty as to your well being; you’ve showed us your eyes once more. They look wiser, and though a smile is on, your eyes show the sadness that still lingers.

  I can’t stop staring at them, they make me wish that I could do a whole lot more than what I am. I want to help bring back joy into those beautiful brown eyes, but my friendship can only do so much from such a distance, and I can only be there as much as you allow me to be. That’s alright, I am here, I will always be here; so when the joy returns to your life, I will be there to see it in your eyes.

  My hope is to be able to contribute to that joy in some way; so on days like today, a day where you should feel nothing but happiness and love on account of your birth, there would be no sadness. Today might be dulled down, but my wish for you is that all future days like today, and every day in between, are days that your eyes can’t contain the happiness you feel, that we look upon you and see how wonderful life can be.

  I will always remember August 18; I will always look for your eyes, and give everything I can so that happiness fills them. It may be a tough one this year, but know that I am here to celebrate another year of your life, I’m sending you all the love and happiness I possess, forever and ever.
