inspired by this post
Orange, yellow, lime, indigo, and silver. :)
Oh man, thank you for asking! <3
Orange: who is your greatest literary inspiration, and why?
I really like Terry Pratchett, because I have huge admiration for his style. The way he intermingles serious/sad things with this amazing light-hearted commentary and hilarious descriptions/phrases is something I am in utter awe of.
Yellow: What is your favorite style?
... this is alarmingly like in exams when i write a full answer, read the next question and go 'well, fuck, what I just wrote actually answers this, doesn't it?'
So see above, I guess!
Lime: What are some of the most prevalent themes in your work?
Oh man, I love this question, but I have no idea how to answer it. Um. I really like the idea of people fighting things that arise from within themselves/ are related to emotions. I like to play around with conflict, from both internal and external sources.
I'd say guilt, conflict, role-reversals, love (of various kinds), healing, self-forgiveness/acceptance...
i don't know mani just write random shit about gays
Indigo: what do you think is the greatest flaw in your writing?
HOW LONG DO YOU HAVE
I'm prone to repetition, especially of phrases/wording I like. I feel like I really struggle with characterisation at times, especially when writing dialogue. I also have a tendency to push things over the top- to make them too dramatic, too cheesy etc.
And let's not even go into my disastrous relationship with word count.
Silver: top three sources of inspiration
- Music. Most of my fanfic has at least one song associated with it- and, uh, My Roots Take Flight has a playlist.
- Other fanfic. I love to see how people have interpreted characters and what they've done with them.
- I genuinely don't know. I've been sat here staring at my fanfiction.net account and I can't remember how I thought of 75% of these. They just... came into being. My writing does what it wants; I just type the letters out.
Thank you again for asking! It's really kind of you :D x
