Listen!!! I'm just waking up from last night!! OMG the love I felt was unbearable!! I couldn't help but cry!!! From my family to god family, to friends, lover, to just everybody!!! Me sitting and waiting to see how many of y’all will be “giving up” social media for Lent because you “need a break” and are “tired” of the folk and their “shenanigans”. BUT....all the while you’ll be looking from another page or from someone else AND you’ll intermittently log on to say: “Hey just checking in to say hey. Still going strong on day 3 of #noSocialMediaForLent2020” Y’all love a good band wagon. Just to inform you: LENT is not a trend or a fad. It represents a time of 40 days and 40 nights (excluding Saturday and Sunday) fasting, praying, and consecration of those things that you believe weigh heavy on your daily and spiritual life. It is to clear you spirit, heart, and mind of foggy distractions. It is to prepare you for the next level in GOD and spirituality. It’s to get you ready for the next trek of public ministry. It is supposed to represent and replicate Jesus’s 40 days and 40 nights in the desert; where he fasted and prayed and prepared to embark on fulling the prophecy and his purpose of: coming to Live and coming to die for our sins; our transgressions; our iniquities. I say all that to say: before you go jumping on to something, ask and research about what it is and it’s meaning. Lent is not a joke....it’s major spiritual tedium that is only for those who will take it seriously. Don’t ask for something you aren’t ready or prepared for.
