BY BRYONY LAU (FGJ ‘21) --  In the early 1990s, the renovations manager at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport decided to decorate each bathroom urinal with a realistic image of a fly, placed just above the drain. For decades, urinal designers had sought a way to curb the unpleasant spillage around urinals, and it turned out that by giving men something to aim at — in this case, a humble insect — spillage dramatically reduced. NATIONAL POST -- Canada promised to take in 20,000-40,000 Afghan refugees. Where are they?

BY BRYONY LAU (FGJ ‘21) --  Wendy Cukier didn’t expect to end up with 2,000 shoes in her living room. When she heard that two-thirds of Afghans arriving at the Toronto airport had only sandals on their feet, she put out a call for donations through Lifeline Afghanistan, an organization she co-founded that is helping to resettle refugees.
