Apparently, SF had a planned response to Family Guy. I wonder if Seth Macfarlane is aware of their internet animators background and even what Zach and his friends said about his show on SleepyCast/OneyPlays. At the same time, SF kinda has some elements that shows like FG does, like the "awkward realistic conversation" bits. I do wonder if the response would be about FG being a more cynical show or its rigged animation because Seth has a very cynical view on animation. A problem with mocking Family Guy is that because of how cynical the show already is, a lot of FG parodies might as well be something that could fit the show. You're almost writing a fanfiction at that point.

Also now I remember how FG does these references/crossovers with Modern Family and these celebrity cameos. It's a way of the show telling you that it doesn't view itself as a cartoon: FG sees itself as a family sitcom that happens to be a cartoon. The animation is there to simply visualize concepts like "what if the baby was evil and the dog was a liberal and the dad farted nyeheheheh" but it's all robotic looking.

Given how Dan Harmon accused Genndy Tartakovsky of "cheating because he's an actual animator", I thought guys like Genndy or even Peter Chung, Bakshi etc could be the ones to "own" FG and the like for being actual animation auteurs. But they don't need to because simply making good animation is already a blow to those shows. Similar to how a lot of cartoons have anime parodies and some can be insulting, but you barely see the other way around: Because when an anime simply looks amazing and does something artistic, it already blows a cynical Western cartoon without even making it clear.
