The existence of Bowser Jr.'s "Explorer" costume in Mario Kart World is amazing to me because like
That's a Boy Scout uniform. That's Bowser Jr. wearing a Boy Scout Uniform. And he's not just wearing that outfit for the aesthetic, there are merit badges stuck to the back of his shell. Junior has been putting in work! He's been contributing to his troop! And it's just so perfect because Bowser is absolutely the type of parent who would sign his kid up for Scouts. Sure, he probably encourages Junior to be a complete and utter hellion to his Scoutmaster and Troop leaders (because he's Bowser), but you can be certain that Bowser will make sure that Junior is going on all the campouts and attending all the Jamborees. Bowser Jr. may grow up to be just as much of a megalomaniacal tyrant as his father, but he's going to be a megalomaniacal tyrant with his Eagle Scout Award proudly framed on his wall.
Just look at that pose, he's so earnest, I want him to come home from camp with the biggest grin on his face after having absolutely demolished all his competitors in the raingutter regatta, his dad would be so proud of him.
