There was a large protest that I joined. One of the organizers made many bloodstained suits to be used by participants in a performance. I was quite reluctant at first. I don’t know exactly why, but I think it was a very emotional day, and the idea of publicly displaying my victimhood also brought on feelings that I was reluctant to experience." So far it’s been going well and we’re still developing our approach, trying new ideas out on a regular basis.’ ‘I still wear the bloodstain occasionally and have worn it a few times this year, including for a 22-day tour of the Gulf Coast with the Bloodstained Men & Their Friends. Even though I hadn’t worn the bloodstain in a few years, it felt natural to wear again. Quite a difference from the first few times I’ve worn it.’ “I think the bloodstain is an extremely effective tool and I wish more people would consider wearing it to experience the public reaction. It’s one thing to see it, it’s another to wear it. “When I first started intactivism, I had such a difficult time speaking with people in public. I took things very personally.
