Seth EdwardBloodstained MenTry and Cut Me Now You Fucking CowardsWhen Seth Edward stands on the street corner holding his sign TRY AND CUT ME NOW YOU FUCKING COWARDS he is impossible to miss. He is a powerful force in the genital integrity movement and a valuable part of the Bloodstained Men and their Friends.Seth speaks of how his sign came to be:“So I made this sign originally for protesting at the hospital I was born at. The first reaction I got from a few people was that your sign was too offensive and it might get lost in the message, and you know if there was a more offensive way I could have made this sign I would have done it. I want it to be as offensive as possible and I want it to be a juxtaposition idea of the infant me that was helpless and the six foot five me that they won’t fuck with.” “I was trying to find what can fit on a sign, and I kind of knew what I wanted to say so then it was just that idea of ‘try to cut me now’ which was a sign I held at my first protest. I stood with that sign that said ‘try to cut me now’ outside of all the windows at the hospital. I walked around by myself, left the group behind and just went on my own and I would see people come up to the window, then they would disappear and then five would come up to the window. That would go on as long as I would stand there and I actually had one lady run outside, she came up to talk to me. She said everybody at the hospital is talking about you, but I wanted to come out and find out why are you against circumcision. So we talked for a little bit and I ended up later finding my picture on twitter that she had taken that day.” “So that was my foray into protesting and I had that ‘try and cut me now’ at that time and I added the fucking cowards part because they’re not going to mess with me now, and it’s because they’re cowards. They get boys when they’re little and too young to fight back. I just thought that it was succinct as possible and a powerful message. When I protest with this sign I don’t interact with the individuals that I’m protesting against. I don’t talk to them. If they come up in support of course I talk to them, but if they jeer at me or say something negative I just take it and I just stand there silently and I let my stares back at them and the vulnerability of my position kind of be the message that, you know, come at me.”“So part of the feedback from the sign has been great. The first day that I got it I made my frame. I took it out in my side yard and had my daughter take a picture of me and I posted it on Facebook and it had like 350 some shares, it was my most shared picture. And so I knew the response from it that the message was powerful, and then to add with that the bloodstained men outfit I just think that it’s an incredibly powerful message, just in every picture that is taken and every person that sees it. And I’m hoping that someday it’s one of those iconic photos of the movement”Transcribed from:TRY TO CUT ME NOW YOU FUCKING COWARDS!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFQO-mZ1ApI&t=112sVideo Credit: James LoewenSeth is also the man behind the 50501 protests- 50 states, 50 State Capitols- one day.
