WELCOME HOME...OR NOT || TYLEXI
WHO: Tyler Evans & Lexi Pierce.
WHAT: Tyler flies home to try to make things right with him and Lexi, after not speaking for a few weeks.
WHEN: Monday, 8/17.
WHERE: Their home.
NOTES: NSFW in the beginning, but it’s brushed over for the most part. This whole thing is trash bc we suck, so.
Lexi couldn't help but feel her heart pound in her chest out of excitement. She liked that he was waiting for her at home, because she had missed him so much and all she wanted to do was be with him. However, the excitement fluctuated between being that and dread. She didn't want to break up and really, she knew how selfish this all was. But that didn't change the fact that she wasn't able to handle the distance. Making her way home, she changed into sweats in the car outside of their place. She also took some of her make up off, not wanting to go in and show off even before how she had been out with another guy. It wasn't like she was hiding it, because she already told him, but she didn't want to rub it in his face. Slowly, she made her way inside, pausing as she shut the front door behind her. "Tyler?" She called, wondering if he was even there or not. His car was parked out front as it had been since he left, so either he caught a cab home or he wasn't even there.

Tyler couldn't work like this anymore. He needed to go home and see Lexi because his mind was on another plane and it wasn't helping his concentration. In fact people around him were starting to notice and the last thing he needed was losing his shot because he was too wrapped up in thinking about back home. It didn't help that on top of it all she now hinted at possibly breaking up for good and he didn't even know how to begin to handle it. Even through texts they were fighting which was what he'd been hoping to avoid when he got home but that was inevitable. Once he arrived and noticed she wasn't home, he took his bags up to their room and went back downstairs to wait for her on the couch with the box of chocolate covered strawberries he'd gotten her and wine. Wine he didn't wait to drink since he figured it would help him calm down as he anxiously waited for her. Minutes had passed when he heard the door unlock and he shifted on the couch, letting out a breath at the sound of her voice calling out his name. Without answering, he set the glass down and got to his feet to greet her by the door but slowed to halt when he first saw her. Taking her in for a second before finally moving to tightly wrap his arms around her. There was so much he wanted to say at once that nothing came out and he just stood there holding her for a long moment until he pulled away. "I, um, I know you just ate.. despite what you're wearing.." He trailed off with a half smile when it dawned on him that she was in sweats. "But I brought you something sweet I know you haven't had in a while." He finished, glancing at her lips.
Lexi didn't like knowing that she was the reason that they were going through this rough patch. And the fact that he had come home before he was suppose to made light to the fact that it was clear he couldn't concentrate. She had no idea what to do about it or how to fix it right now because even though she felt awful, all around, she couldn't do something that would make herself unhappy in the end. Then again, just about anything would make her unhappy - there was really no happy ending. Not right now anyway. Turning, she saw him approach her and she bit on her lip as she watched him slow down. It hadn't even been that long, but for two people who were used to seeing each other every single day, it felt like forever. She moved to meet him, wrapping her arms around him as well, her face burying into his shoulder and just letting herself enjoy being in his arms again. He pulled away before she was ready, but her hands slipped down to still grip the sides of his shirt, as if keeping him close. She frowned when he pointed out her clothes, although they both were very aware of where she had just been. "Shh," she shook her head, even as he told her that he brought something for her. "I just..." frowning still, she glanced up to meet his gaze. "I just want to be with you, okay? Please?" Leaning up, her arms wrapped around his neck and her lips pressed to his, relishing the feeling of his lips on hers again after weeks. The fact that he brought her anything at all made her feel even worse about everything.
Tyler didn't think they could ever be in this position. He knew that traveling without her would indefinitely make things harder but he never thought they'd get so difficult to the point that she was thinking about potentially breaking up for good. Of course neither of them wanted that but the fact alone that she'd thought of it was enough to say how in danger their relationship was. There wasn't much he could do at this point other than drop everything to come home but he had no choice but to go back eventually. Surprised by the shake of her head as he told her that he'd gotten her something, he was helpless when she looped her arms around him again. Wrapping his own around her waist at her next words. "Lexi.." he whispered, his lips pressed to hers, not wasting a beat in moving against them. Savoring it as if he had to make up for the three weeks he'd gone without kissing her. With one swift move, he lifted her up to wrap her legs around him but didn't stop kissing her as he took her back to the couch.
Lexi didn't know how to make any of this better. The fact was, she loved him too much; wanted to be around him too much, but she couldn't just drop everything to travel around with him when he had to go. Could she? They had went from fighting, to her avoiding him for weeks, to fighting some more and now she couldn't think or do anything but be with him. Her mouth ravished his, hands roaming over the contours of his body as he lifted her up. Her legs looped around his waist as he brought her to the couch. The moment she laid back against it, her hands shifted to push her sweatpants down, needing him in a way she never needed him before. It wouldn't help their problems by any means, but it was clear that neither would be able to think or talk about anything until they had gotten through their sexual tension.
Tyler would never ask Lexi to drop everything just to travel with him but he didn't feel like she had anything to lose in leaving with him. Sure, she had her party planning business going but they were still young and he wished she would just take the risk with him because there was so much he'd seen already that he wished she'd been there to share with her. He had no problem with just being with each other like she claimed she wanted to do right now and so his lips worked hers rather aggressively as he laid her back on the couch and he quickly unbuckled his belt at the sight of her pushing her sweatpants down. Clearly whatever needed to be talked about could wait since they wouldn't be able to focus until they'd had their way with each other like he'd been dying to for the past couple weeks. They'd never gone this long without being together in every sense even with all the fighting before. Chucking his pants down, they fell onto the ground next to the couch before he parted her legs and settled between them. Crashing his lips to hers again as his hands trailed down every curve of her body as if he were refreshing his memory of how smooth her skin felt underneath his fingertips. His fingers hooked at her panties but he refused to tear his lips away as he tugged at them.
Lexi didn't want to ruin what he was working so hard for. Racing for NASCAR had always been his dream and the last thing she wanted to do was be the reason he was putting it all in jeopardy. She wanted to support him, but it was hard to do that when all they were doing was fighting about being apart. Taking a more official break, in her eyes, didn't mean necessarily breaking up for good. But it also didn't mean doing this, or coming home to her at all, when he was able to get some time off. But Lexi didn't know if she could handle a more intense break than what they had been through these last couple weeks. She moaned into his mouth as his hands trailed over her body, missing feeling his hands all over her skin. After her sweatpants were discarded in a heap, her hands shifted to frame his face for a moment. Her body arched up, pressing against his for a moment, before his fingers hooked into her panties. Hands slipped back down, grabbing lightly at his to encourage him to pull them down further, before they were in a heap along with her sweats. Lexi hadn't expected this at all, but she couldn't stop herself from pushing this to happen right now.
Tyler knew that Lexi would never force him to drop NASCAR for her. Neither would she encourage it since she knew just how much it meant to him. It was something he'd wanted his entire life and it hurt to hear that she wished things were back to the way they were before when he would just race here in Miami. Mostly because he hated how true it was. Things were a lot simpler back then but he was convinced they could be easy if she would just leave with him. He throbbed against her inner thigh when she pressed herself more to him and encouraged him to pull her panties down the rest of the way which he did at once. It collapsed onto the heap of their clothes on the ground before he stroked his length and pressed it against her entrance. His lips found hers again. Ravishing them with his own as he pushed into her with one slow thrust. Faltering in the kiss, he pulled away slightly as his mouth gaped open at the feeling of her taking him in before he started to thrust into her again. His arms straining above her on the arm rest of the couch for leverage.
Lexi didn't know how to end things with him, even if that's what she wanted to do. How could she turn away from him or not go see him when she knew he was in town. Would he come back to Miami if they broke up? Would he ever see him again? The thought of never seeing him again terrified her. After all, how was breaking up a solution for being upset about not being able to be with him? It didn't really make sense, but the hard truth was they had to learn to live without each other if that's what it came down to. Her hands slipped up his shirt to trail along his abs as he pressed himself into her, not bothering with taking off any clothing above the waist because while this was a way to show their love for each other, it was ultimately just a quick fix. It wasn't long before she was coming, moans pouring through as she did so.
Tyler wished there was more he could do to change Lexi's mind about breaking up now that he knew it was thought in her head but there wasn't much. He would eventually have to go back in a week and part of him hoped that this time maybe she would come with him but at the rate things were going for the two of them, he couldn't get his hopes up. It was frightening to think that by the end of his stay they would be worse off than they were before he came back. Things were aggressive and fast but none of it was surprising considering how long they'd gone without sex. So much that they were usually ones to pride themselves in their heavy foreplay and had managed to skip it with how eager they were. Once he felt her tighten around him followed by the moans that poured from her lips, it wasn't long before he was coming, too. Panting heavily against the crook of her neck, his hips stilled as they both came down and he finally slipped off her.
Lexi didn't want the sex to end and not for the obvious reasons. After that, it meant having no more distractions and that meant having to deal with the whole future of their relationship. She wanted so much to pretend that everything was just okay, because for the moment it seemed like it. He was there with her, which was exactly what she wanted, but that didn't mean the last month he had been gone hadn't been awful for her. He came nearly right after she did, and she felt his warmth spread through her. Breathing heavily, she let her head rest back on the couch while his breath hit hard against the crook of her neck for a minute or two. Once he slid off her, she shifted back to sit upright and reached for her sweats right away. Not even bothering with her panties she moved to pull them up and stood there for a moment, not knowing what to do next. "You came in me." She pointed out quite obviously, though not in an angry tone.
Tyler didn't even want to think about all the talking that awaited them once they came to their senses again. The sex was inevitable because they wouldn't be able to talk until they got their sexual tension out of the way anyway. Now that they had though, he felt like they needed to discuss their relationship which he was dreading. Not because he didn't want to save it, but because he felt like they'd already lost it and he didn't want to accept that. Rolling off her, he sat up at the edge of the couch to pick up his boxers as he slipped them on. Followed by his pants that he buckled on when she pointed out that he'd came in her. "Yeah.." He arched a brow, sitting back down on the couch as he buckled his belt. "Did I make a mistake?"
Lexi and Tyler had always been pretty different and definitely always wanted different things in life. They grew together, however, certain things changing to adjust being with one another. Lexi learned to depend on him more than she would have ever liked and Tyler put Lexi first, before everything. Including racing. At least the street racing part, and even that had always made her feel guilty, so she couldn't let him jeopardize his career with nascar. Taking another moment, she moved to sit back down on the couch beside him. "We either use condoms or you pull out." She pointed out, once again, something he already knew. Turning to look at him, she shrugged her shoulders. "No. I just don't know why you did it, considering you know what could possibly happen by doing that..."
Tyler had always put Lexi first for a lot of things. Even when it came to street racing at one point, he had been willing to give it up if only to worry her less. However, his career was ultimately on the line now and things were finally looking up for him with NASCAR. The last thing he needed was a set back but their relationship was already becoming just that. After all, he'd stopped everything to come see her. He huffed out, glancing at the ground as she again pointed out the obvious. "I won't be the only guy racing for NASCAR with a family. We can have that, too." He said softly, looking over at her when she sat next to him. "But it's kind of hard to when you're thinking about breaking up."
Lexi had wanted this for him. She wanted him to get noticed and drive the way he always dreamed of. She had wanted it so badly for him, that she hadn't thought about how it would affect her. And because of how it affected her, it affected their relationship. They had been through this already before, the whole argument. Nothing was different, because nothing could be different. Talking things out wouldn't change things, they just had to make a decision. Or she did, since he just wanted to let everything be as is - or have her travel with him. "Is that why you did it? To knock me up to ensure I wouldn't think about it anymore?" Waving her hands, she shook her head. "How are you going to feel about being away for half the year while I'm pregnant? You'll miss everything with that. What if you're in the middle of the race while I go into labor---I," cutting herself off, she raked a hand through her hair. "Every time we get on this, it just sounds like I'm trying to get you to quit and I'm not. God, I'm not. And I'm not trying to make you choose, but I know that's how it looks... I just, I know what I want and you know what you want. And it's not adding up right now."

Tyler knew that Lexi could never be so selfish as to ask him to stop racing or give up his dream for her. Their relationship may have suffered a lot through their constant fighting but it was never because either of them were getting in the way of each other's goals. They always kept a healthy balance except the only issue was that they both wanted separate things that just didn't work in their favor. While she wanted to stay home running her business, he had to travel to make his dream come true. There wasn't a whole lot he could do about that but he was still convinced they could have a life together despite his frequent traveling. "Really?" He nearly scoffed, not wanting to believe what she'd just asked him. "Lexi..." he trailed off when she cut herself off. It was hard to imagine missing out on things he most likely would if she got pregnant now but there had to be a way around this. There just had to. "So we're doing what we both want. That doesn't mean we can't still be together. Just because it's not adding up right now, you what? Think we should break up? Cause if that's what you think is best then tell me right now so I don't spend a week here thinking we're gonna be fine." He said all at once, clearly working himself up at the thought.
Lexi knew that lots of people did the long distance and handled it well. He kept bringing up how lots of guys raced and still had a family, but maybe they had a girlfriend or wife that could handle it. Lexi just felt like she couldn't, and she obviously hadn't handled things very well while he was away. She wanted to have kids with him there, not with him gone all the time so that they missed the different joys of it. "You can't blame me for thinking that." She added, knowing that it wouldn't have been the only reason he did it, but it was very well a legit point, she felt like. They had barely scratched the surface of everything and she was already upset. Clearly, by his tone of voice, so was he. "No, stop!" She yelled, bringing her hands up to rub at her face for a moment. "I never said that I thought breaking up was best for you, or for us even! I'm so sad without you here, Tyler. I cry all the time and I just don't know what to do, okay?" She cried out.
Tyler didn't know how they would make it work even if Lexi agreed to work on them. It wasn't like either of them wanted to give up on their relationship but it was obvious that something wasn't working here. Maybe they just weren't the kind of couple that could do long distance relationships. Then again they'd never really tried it out considering that they'd gone on a break the moment he left and she didn't bother returning his calls during that time. He sighed as she yelled and he leaned forward, burying his face into his hands for a moment while she continued. "You can't say you missed me and then not pick up the phone!" He yelled back, getting to his feet as he turned to face her. "I know it's not easy for you but it's not easy for me either and I'm trying to make it work but you're making it difficult for me right now, Lexi! You're my life but my career's a part of that too, now. Traveling comes with it and there's gonna be lots of it. If you can't handle it then.." he cut himself off, not knowing how to finish his sentence. "I don't know." He threw his hands out, shaking his head as he paced around.
Lexi couldn't believe how part of her had been so excited and happy to see him, even knowing that this fight was just around the bend. The worst part of it all was that she struggled to say most of what she was thinking because it sounded so awful. She wasn't trying to make him choose, but no matter what it was going to seem that way. Tears streamed down her cheeks, especially as he yelled back. She knew he wasn't trying to yell at her, that he was just sad and frustrated, but she never liked when he yelled regardless. She cowered down in the couch as he continued, knowing that it really was all on her. She remained quiet as he finished, and started to pace around, sitting with her arms in her lap feeling helpless. "Then we should break up." She said softly, finishing his sentence for him. "If I can't handle it, then I can't handle it." Getting to her feet, she turned to walk away, hard to believe only moments ago they were having sex on the couch.
Tyler didn't like where any of this was going but he had definitely anticipated it. He knew that coming home would mean dealing with their troubles but he missed her so much that he was willing to deal with whatever came at him. After all he wanted to fix their relationship and believe that they could still be a couple once things settled down for him but that was just it-- they weren't going to. This was only the beginning and it was hard to be excited for his dreams becoming a reality when the other thing that mattered the most to him was falling apart right before his eyes. He knew that he was upsetting her with his yelling by the tears that streamed down her cheeks but he couldn't help it. He was riled up and frustrated by how helpless he felt. The last thing he needed to hear were the next words that came out of her mouth and he stood there in disbelief for a second. Watching her get to her feet, he was quick to step forward and reach for her hand to stop her in her tracks. "Look me in the eyes and tell me you think we should break up." He said sternly as if it would disguise his shaky voice. It was hard to believe he'd come all this way to see her only to hear her say those words.
Lexi felt like this was lose/lose for her. Either way, she was losing him, she felt like. Maybe if they spent some time really apart she would realize how awful it was and figure something else out. Maybe she would put her business - both of them, aside and go travel with him. It was hard enough saying the words that had come out of her mouth. It took everything in her to get up and walk away after that, but she couldn't handle the conversation anymore. Did she mean her words? Yes, but she didn't know if it would stick. He had so much power over her that he didn't even realize. Her eyes shut tightly when he reached out to grab her hand and it was impossible for her not to squeeze back. She stood still in her spot, still with her back to him and holding onto his hand. "You know I can't look you in the eyes and say it, Tyler." Did that mean that it wasn't their next course of action? No. Not being able to look him in the eyes and say it didn't mean it wasn't right for her in that moment.
Tyler worried about spending a whole week home with her because the thought of leaving her again was terrifying. It was hard enough the first time and he didn't think he could do it again but he had no choice but to come back home. One would think that after finally getting his foot in the door with what he wanted to do for the rest of his life that he'd be set and happy but how could he be when his relationship was falling apart? It wasn't like she was asking him to give it up for her but that was essentially the only way their relationship would work at this point since she refused to travel with him. He glanced down at their hands as she gave his a squeeze but still gave him her back. "Don't do this." He said softly. "What do you want? I'll do it. But don't do this. We've come too far for this shit, babe."
Lexi hated not knowing what to do. She was the type of person that always liked to be in control, especially when it had to do with her and her own thoughts. He had just gotten home that night and having it all out in one showdown right now seemed stupid. But, at the same time, did they really want to pretend all week like everything was fine and then have it out? Turning back toward him, her head was still looking down, and her hand still gripped his. "The most messed up part of it all is that all I want is you." She whispered, shaking her head and looking up at him. "I know saying it that way makes it sound like breaking up is the worst thing to do but... I can't have you the way I want you. Not anymore. And that's... okay, cause you've got to do your thing and I have to do mine."
Tyler usually knew just what to say to get Lexi to give in but this time he was coming up short. Or so it felt like. There was only so much he could do at this point. Things were inevitably going to be this way for a while because no matter what, he was going to have to go back to work soon. Whether they pretending things were fine for a week or not. Maybe they were doing a good thing in lashing out on each other right now if only to just get it out of the way so they didn't keep bursting out in frustration throughout the week. But the last thing he wanted was for them to end up breaking up as a result of dealing with it all at once. "You're all I want, too." He exhaled, still holding her hand as she turned around to face him. Shaking his head as she spoke, he stepped closer and dropped her hand to cup her cheeks. "Stop. Don't say that. I need you. I can't think without you and it drives me nuts. I need you, Lexi." He whispered, his lips brushing against hers softly.
Lexi didn't know how to break up with him. That was the bottom line. She couldn't even look at him and say the words 'break up'. There was nothing he could do this time. It was always bad when they were at a standstill, where neither could do anything to fix things. It was even harder to push him away while he was there. He had to know that, because it was part of the reason he showed up there. Not the whole reason, but part, for sure. She felt his hands drop to her cheeks and she knew she would lose all hope of walking away from him again. At least for tonight. Her eyes closed and she exhaled. That was the other reason he had come home - the main one. He couldn't focus without fixing things, she knew that. "I know, I'm sorry." She breathed against his lips, kissing them softly. "Come to bed with me?" This time it was a much more innocent tone than from when she walked in the door.
Tyler could tell that this wasn't what Lexi wanted. She couldn't even look him and tell him she thought they should break up which he already suspected but he wanted to make his point anyway. There was no way he was going to come home only to be broken up with on his first night back. Or any night really. He refused to accept the idea of ever letting Lexi break up with him but after she'd dodged his calls and texts for weeks, it wasn't so far fetched considering how easy it was for her. At least she made it seem like. His lips pressed back to hers as he kissed her before nodding at her words and following her into their bedroom.
