Attention Young Creative Writers: Scholarships Available for Between the Lines
Between the Lines (BTL) is seeking young writers for their Summer 2015 Session. If you want to immerse yourself in cultural exchange and better your written craft, apply for this intensive two week program in Iowa City, IA, the only UNESCO City of Literature in the U.S.
Program Length: 2 weeks
Program Dates: Russia/Arabic World: June 21-July 5, 2015 (Ages 16-19)
Armenia/Turkey: July 18-August 1, 2015 (Ages 17-20)
Tuition: $1800, with $10,000 in scholarships available to American students
The new deadline for applicants is April 15, 2015.

Online Application Form
One Letter of Recommendation (via mail or e-mail)
PDF version of your Transcript
Writing Sample: 6-8 pages of fiction and/or poetry
Writing Sample: 2-5 pages pf fiction and/or poetry in response to ONE of our prompts
Statement of Purpose
This year’s prompt choices:
During breakfast you are startled by a heavy knock at the door. It is someone who demands something from you. Who is it, what does he/she need, and what happens next? Write a short story or poem.
Write a short story or poem that contains three (3) of the following objects and one (1) place: Objects: old bicycle, uncomfortable couch, leaking canoe, sleeping puppy, love note, truth serum; Places: cruise ship, forest with a lake, empty street at dawn, deserted dance club.
