the thing the Thing. johnny has a big theme of Knowing and Being Seen by max and likeyes max is Seeing Johnny the entire chapter but what’s going on in the background is that isabel is as well. Johnny notices her looking and watching and pointing out things almost as much as max does. “the johnny i know” “you’re awfully quiet for johnny jhonny” it’s hopefully implied she’s doing the same for max, (and max her. “you just wanna wreck a fence too) but isabel introspection has taken a slight backseat this chapter

<Etiquette> “Hey there, Brigand. Etiquette here.”
<Etiquette> "Saw you haven't been doing too hot recently. Dealin' with the Longbeard situation and the destruction of CMC, right? I get it. You may not believe me, but I get it. I've never been one to talk much about the past, but.."
<Etiquette> "..Let us leave it with the fact I should not be alive."
<Etiquette> "They say that at the end of the universe is a bar. Let's meet there, eh?"
“Black Torrent Mercenary Company, signing off.”

<PERSEPHONE> YOU TIMING IS IMPECCABLE, BRIGAND WAKES AND THE CHILDREN ARE NO WHERE TO BE SEE.
[Brigand}- *big yawn* Aye, I'm awake. Wasn't you who said I needed to rest?
<PERSEPHONE> YES. NOW THAT YOU HAVE RESTED, YOU MUST GRIEVE.
[Brigand}- I. . . *sigh*
[Brigand}- No. You're right. . .
[Brigand}- It does feel like the end of the universe, doesn't it? Hanging here in the shattered remains of a god. . .
<PERSEPHONE> YOU ARE WELCOME ABOARD THE DEMETER'S BOUNTY ETIQUETTE. YOU AND BRIGAND WILL DRINK AND YOU WILL REMEMBER.
[Brigand}- Umm, I myself would have put it more eloquently. But she is right, I could use a drink and someone to talk to. Someone who understands.
<PERSEPHONE> I LOOK FORWARDS TO GRENDEL'S CONVERSATION. THEY ARE A BETTER POET THAN MOST.
[Brigand}- Well well well!? Never thought I'd see the day. Persephone's made a friend! You two are most certainly welcome aboard, perhaps we'll christen a new keg tonight. . .
PERSEPHONE WATCHES.
Brigand, out~
op tell me what’s the book about
it started out being about that general concept of “if van gogh had been treated for his depression, he wouldnt have made any good art🙃” except examined thru a 22 or 23yo bi girl who falls in love with her new best friend while spiralling into mental illness. then it became almost entirely self-indulgent and cathartic, and gayer. it’s like 80k iirc (so around 250 pages in a novel)
what DOES it say about me if my favourite scene is johnny and isabel talking
i just remembered that i wrote a book once lmfao. like sat down and wrote a whole entire book for nanowrimo (sp?) one year and then took a class with a wildly discouraging publishing professor and just forgot about the whole thing
This was on the new yt osu stream from peak streamer BTMC
common fanfic trope is "i cant confess bc feelings but also What If Dating Goes Bad"
its fine its good. for the most part i like it. if characters get together too fast i get bored. So they need a reason. ("i cant bc they would never like me back" is reason enough for me but i digress) but honestly in real life i see people throw away any sense of hesitation to be with someone, like, 90% more than i see people Ever actually go "i think dating is a bad idea", especially if theyre teens. so if youre going for "this would go badly".... to me, there needs to be a serious conviction backing that up. why do they think dating is a bad idea. why are they hesitating to make that step.
