Week 23: Hidden Gems

To celebrate the underdogs, the rare finds, and the underrated, this week is all about celebrating hidden gems. Hidden Gems are fics that have been overlooked or tucked away in the corners of the tumblr shelves, fics that haven't gotten the appreciation that they deserve. With less than 1,000 notes, they are usually written by smaller authors, who deserve just as much a voice and just as much feedback as the big authors we usually feature.

Criteria for recommendations:

Must have less than 1k notes at the time of reccing 

Any member 

NSFW or SFW 

For chapter fics, it’s just the note count of the first part, not cumulative

for hidden gems I would like to recommend the dinner party by lamourche! yoongi is an absolute dream in this and I consider it to be one of the most iconic fics I’ve ever read. the author writes such beautifully layered and authentic characters and her voice is so unique, clever, and refreshing. she writes the most grounded and realistic and compelling fairytales you can imagine. this story is super special.

Ares by plumblackjeon There’s boxer JK. There’s rough sex. There’s also a dream where he’s fed butterfly wings and the symbolism in that my mind will never recover from. I know in my heart it was done on purpose. This author is THE ONE who got away for me. I hope they’re well. || The costuming and the use of a tree in Parrying Blows by foreignfingers makes it stare off into space levels of hot || Thigh Highs and Neckties by you-know-bts is 6k of hot CEO DOM JK. It can keep you warm this winter.

Hi! I'd like to submit Inside My Mind by jimlingss for this week's theme!! It's a great fic with incredible characterization and what I like most about it is that it perfectly describes the cringeworthy and awkward experience of being a high school student while not falling into teenager stereotypes. For Hidden Gems week, I'd like to nominated House of Cards part 2: Daddies need love too by @sweet-teeth-MFS. Following on from House of Cards (Part 1), it follows the story of a Poly!au between Namjoon, Hoseok and Reader. In this particular fic, it covers quite difficult relationship topics with Namjoon being at the focus. It's quite angsty and allows the reader to consider the overall scenario at greater detail, something that is missed in fanfiction and deserves more praise. I love this fic x

Sweet relief by cassiavioletblue the dirtiest smut fluff you need in your life, cassiavioletblue just knows how to pull in the Reader with her words. I rec this Story because I really liked how it felt so real between them, the bond that they shared was something i could imagine so well and its all because of her beautiful writing

evergreen by softjeon and cassiavioletblue is a hidden gem, a hybrid au unlike any other with hybrids that ive never seen before, a racoon, a deer and a squirrel and lots of plot twists. such an underrated story; well all of their stories are underrated in my opinion but who am i, if you look for amazing plots and characters those two authors are always where i'd lead you to
