You can unfollow me if you are going to try to cover up or justify in any means what bts said about skin color preference. Does that mean I hate them? No. Am I heartbroken and disappointed? Yes. But they need to be held accountable for what they say. Nothing is ever going to change if we act like they are perfect. They are imperfect and so is everyone else on this planet. We have to hold them accountable for perpetuating colorism.
By stating they have a preference they’re saying someone’s racial background gives them more desirable qualities. Guess what?? Poc were and still are seen as objects, devalued as human beings, not equal to the white superiority bullshit that is perpetuated everywhere.
If someone’s skin color alone is enough to make you attracted or not attracted to them, you need to check yourself and get your shit together.
And white kpop fans and bts fans if you try to disagree or debate how pocs feel because of this interview maybe you should realize that you are part of the problem and you don’t want poc voices to be heard at all.
They were wrong and people have the right to feel hurt.
