Faith’s return to Sunnydale in season seven is accompanied by a silly fight with Spike and her randomly wondering if Buffy is now the bad Slayer (for protecting him), which makes her question herself, almost hopefully: “am I the good Slayer now?”
This is one of the reasons it’s so hard for me to like Faith. It’s been YEARS and she has betrayed and hurt and abused and almost killed Buffy multiple times and yet she’s still stuck on this ridiculous binary and arbitrary idea that she can overthrow Buffy to become the “Good Slayer”. The one that never falters in saving people and serving humanity without fail. That she honestly thinks Buffy could ever become corrupted and selfish enough to BE the “Bad Slayer” to make her good by comparison. Or that there even needs to be a good/bad Slayer at all.
