I’ll admit my Patreon has been a little quiet of late, a lot of my time being drawn away by stuff at home and at my day job. Mostly a lot of dull things but stuff that sadly has to be done.
I’ve had feelings about a year running away from me before, but this feels different. Maybe because I’ve got something that must be done before the year is out. It’s something I don’t want to have to put on hold, I don’t want to have it hanging over my head.

The fact that every time she leaned forward his brain immediately stopped being a functioning government employee.

Two years ago he’d been ready to burn his life down for Ada.
Now he was sitting in a bar wondering if Claire knew how pretty she was.

Which somehow felt worse…. To know he was still human.
Because if he was still hopelessly in love with Ada then this wasn’t a problem.

Instead he was sitting here drunk, watching Claire talk with her hands, wondering what her shampoo smelled like.
