fun lore is that we see 4 slayers die by a vampire on screen (not counting the season 7 potential/sudden slayer stuff): Xin Rong, Nikki Wood, Buffy Summers, and Kendra Young. the latter two were taken out by powerful thralls, leaving them unable to resist the single attack that killed them. whereas the first two? Spike is the only vampire we see killing a slayer without any mind tricks, pure fighting skill alone against the Chosen One, literally destined to fight and kill his kind. and he does it twice. no wonder he’s made such a name for himself.
