The chapter title for S3E11's adaptation will be Vilomah, one of the most unpleasant words in any Indo-European language.

This is the OCs going through that. Or, say it with me, poor Gale.

It had been five hundred twenty-seven years, six months and seventeen days, Cornelius thought as his staff struck Roland in the gut with enough force to drive the taller man to his knees wheezing. He barely got the chance to recover as the staff came down on the nape of his neck knocking the larger man out clean, softening the blow with a bit of magic so as to not kill his friend. It wasn't his fault that 'weird' was an understatement for this godforsaken town.

"Gale, come out of the closet." Cornelius never thought he'd have to say those words, ever. He tried the door, the knob vanished, so the house sided with her, good.

"No," the single word response was delivered with a shaking tone that belayed a clear and very present fear, the kind of deep-seated terror that couldn't be instilled save by the most extreme betrayals of trust. The kind therapy both didn't help with, and occasionally made worse.

"They're not dead, Gale. I am not that cruel." Indeed, in the living room sprawled across the floor was a blonde giantess that barely went down. He was born long before the years of 'chivalry' and no issue with it morally. Alas that Ingrid could take a blow with the best of them.

Seldom did Cornelius think of hating magic, the raw thrum of power that coursed through him prevented that from finalizing itself whenever it came up, though infernal magic really made him consider it sometimes. A creeping sensation ran down his spine, as though someone had walked over his grave. Thank Sol he was immortal.

"Very well, I'll be back shortly. I advise you lock yourself in your room, and have a fireball ready if either wakes up. I won't make you an orphan, I'll leave that to you." He didn't bother coaxing her further, if blatant cruelty and suggesting patricide counted as 'coaxing' at all.

As walls of light erected themselves around him as he walked out of his door, he noted wryly, that this was not the first time he'd seen such an evil. For once, the lying god far above him had been helpful. For once.

"Cornelius," Roland rolled his shoulders as a hand gripped the back of his neck with a wince.

"Roland," Cornelius shifted the grip on his staff to a combative one, if need be.

Roland held up a hand, though, "thanks for kicking my ass last night."

"You're welcome. Go check on Gale. Carefully."
