1. When and why did you start watching Teen Wolf?
Okay, so this is slightly embarrassing. I had always seen the commercials for Teen Wolf, and was like, “Wow there’s a lot of hot people on that show”, but when it came out I was definitely in my “follower” phase, and I wasn’t about to watch anything my friends might not think was cool. Also, at my parents house, we had only two TVs, one in the living room and one in their bedroom (and I lived out in the sticks and we actually couldn’t even get fast internet). So, put all those factors together, and you have me not watching TW. THEN last winter I saw a buzzfeed article about how hot Colton Haynes was, and I gave in and bought the first season. I immediately fell in love with Hoechlin, and the BF and I watched Seasons 1-3A and as far as we could go int 3B within like two weeks. I had to watch the last few episodes of 3B live, and it was the WORST. (although, not as bad as I know the 5A finale is going to be)
2. Who’s your favorite character? Are you like this character in any way?
I have a hard time picking favorites, I’m pretty sure I’ve said every character is my favorite at one point. However, Scott is definitely the one that I would ride into battle for. I am ready to talk about him and his character growth at all times (even if I do get a bit aggro). I love Derek as well, I love how much he’s grown (and I adore Hoechlin), and of course I miss him dearly. Lydia is also one of my faves, even though I hated her at first (I think that was the point). She and Derek are definitely the characters who are easiest for me to write. My own personality is the most like Kira’s I think. Lovably (hopefully) awkward but willing to fight for the ones you love. Sigh. I LOVE ALL THESE CHARACTERS
3. What’s your favorite season?
3A!!!!! Everything was so great in this season. (Even though I knew from the start that Jennifer was evil, because I’d seen stuff online, so that led to a lot of yelling at the screen. I also rewatched it with my dad, and Hayley Webb is totally his type. Like unbelievably. And he would argue with me that she wasn’t really evil the entire time, even though I had already seen it. And my mom just sat there and rolled her eyes and commented on how Stiles was the only one she liked -_____-).But I just loved how the pack came together in this season. All the relationships that grew and changed and became stronger. How Derek and Scott were finally working together, which is all I ever wanted in S1&2. (I think people sometimes forget that that is super duper canon and that Derek and Scott work well together now).
4. Is there a scene that is really emotional for you?
There’s so, so many. The one with AA & DH at the beginning of S5 was pretty emotional for me. I wasn’t even expecting to cry tbh. Anything with Scott and his mom is usually amazing, especially the be your own anchor and the end of 3B when he’s crying in her arms. MOTEL CALIFORNIA. HOW SCOTT WOULDN’T LET HIMSELF HEAL WHEN HE THOUGHT DEREK DIED BECAUSE OF HIM. REMEMBER THAT
5. Who’s your favorite villain?
Okay I have two answers. Peter Hale was my first thought, because he’s so shady and snarky and scheming, but you can’t help but kind of like him a bit. And then Gerard was a great villian, because he has zero redeemable qualities. Like, I have no qualms about HATING his guts. And it’s kind of freeing
6. What’s your favorite canon/fanon romantic relationship?
Oh MAN YOU KNOW HOW HARD THIS IS FOR ME. Well, Derek and Lydia is my favorite ship. I know they hardly interacted in canon, but there is so much potential and a million parallels between them. Like I would settle for them being besties.
7. What’s your favorite canon/fanon platonic relationship?
Probably Scott and Derek (even though I do ship it too). Like the way their relationship has blossomed into this beautiful thing full of trust just gives me life. There is no doubt in my mind that Scott feels like Derek is a trusted member of his pack, his adviser, and probably his second (I headcanon that Scott thinks of Stiles as his equal). And I know that there was some huge breaches of trust (on both sides) in s1-2, but I think that Posey and Hoechlin have done a phenomenal job showing how they’ve worked on repairing their relationship (like how the scene where Scott finds Derek’s gun, and in one take Scott was crying and they cut it. LIKE WHY)
8. If you could have one thing in canon that’s not ship related, what would it be?
OH GOD. I think I would want Isaac and Derek to come back. Am I allowed to say both? BECAUSE I WANT BOTH.
9. If you could have one thing in canon that is ship related, what would it be?
LYDIA AND DEREK. LYDIA AND DEREK RESEARCHING TOGETHER. LYDIA AND DEREK TALKING ABOUT HOW MUCH THEY HATE PETER. LYDIA AND DEREK CRYING ABOUT THE PAIN OF FIRST LOVE. LYDIA AND DEREK SHARING EYEBROW RAISES WHEN THE REST OF THE PACK IS BEING DUMB. LYDIA AND DEREK #JUDGING YOU. (it doesn’t even have to be romantic just give it to me JFC)
10. Tell us something positive about Teen Wolf!
I was actually talking to Alex about this the other day, and for all the issues that TW has, the writers have done and excellent jobs with the relationships. I know people might argue about that, but they are so, so realistic. The parent-child ones are my personal favorite. We have three single parents, each with startlingly different relationships with their kids, and yet very, very true to real life. Then we have the Yukimuras, who are definitely awesome and kind of remind me of my own parents. The friendships and romantic relationships are all actually super realistic too, and I can match up each to a real life couple/friend group in my head. Idk. I could write a book about how much I enjoy the dynamics.
