Today we’re in Upper Bavaria in the Tegernsee mountains, a range that belongs to the Bavarian Prealps in Germany, admiring the double summit of the Roßstein (1,698 metres) and Buchstein (1,701 metres) peaks. The hut cradled between both peaks in today’s image is the Tegernsee hut, which offers hikers and climbers board and lodging from mid-May to early November. It’s often referred to as the "eagle's nest" because of its exposed location between the peaks at 1,650 metres above sea level.
