Bali 🇮🇩 :|: When people tell you that Bali is a special place, you have to come experience it to understand. The natural beauty, the delicious food, whatever it is that makes the people here so damn content! I was definitely on my #eatpraylove steez out here (heavy on the eat 😅). Did a little adventuring, a little bit of yoga, a little ocean gazing and a whole lot of temple hopping. . Top 3 favorite experiences in Bali? (1) making my own coconut oil from a raw coconut (@cocoil_bali), (2) taking a private Balinese class, (3) washing in the Holy Spring Temple. . I’ve already committed to holding on to the connections I made here for when I come back. Bali really is an amazing place! And I only had the tiniest taste. Singapore 🇸🇬 :|: What a city! I see why expats settle down here. The people are maaaad nice! Just breathlessly helpful and chatty. And it’s comfortable. It’s so diverse there, I didn’t feel like a unicorn. . Plus, the food was so damn good! You ever eat something so nice, you feel like can instantly understand the soul of the culture it comes from? That’s what #chickenrice did for me. I was in Singapore 36 hours and I ate that joint 3 times. So simple and so soulful. . And! I hadn’t planned on it, but I arrived in time for National Day! Lots of proud happy people in red and white waving flags and having a good time. Malaysia 🇲🇾 Thank you :|: To say my extended layover in Malaysia was awesome would be an understatement. I met the coolest, kindest, most energetic people. I ate the most delicious food. My weekend in Hong Kong 🇭🇰 and Macau 🇲🇴 was thoroughly... disappointing ☹️. The trip did reinforce my travel style though. I like nature, art, old buildings or some other evidence of history, authentic local cuisine, and chatting people up about their city and culture. . What was awesome about HK? The price of food and metro was dumb cheap! The views! Tian Tan Buddha was stunning! The ease of the transport systems! Roasted duck is life! . What I hated? All the other HK food that made me sick🤢! The hordes of tourists! The think-they-slick mainland Chinese visitors that kept pointing their phone cameras at me🙄! The high price of everything! All the over-hyped, unimpressive attractions. . Anyway, I’m glad I could tick them off my bucket list. yesterday’s bucket list-tick :|: I’ve always wanted to start a travel journal with artwork and writings and tokens of the memories I make while traveling. Mostly because my memory is shit but also because it forces you to slow down, sit down somewhere and take time, soak in the details, enjoy the moment. There’s something really nice about having a tangible collection of memories that social media just doesn’t have.
