StartSomeGood and Bucky Box Join Forces to Kickstart the Local Food Movement
Who doesn't love local food? Well, here's some exciting news for local food enterprises and people from all over the world who truly appreciate good food--
Last week, StartSomeGood announced a collaborative partnership with Bucky Box, a social enterprise with a vision to catalyze local food, globally. Bucky Box has developed enterprise tools to help make local food distribution easier and more efficient. The software facilitates online ordering, packing and delivery logistics, payment reconciliation, and online customer databases.

A typically underfunded sector, local food delivery is receiving a much needed kickstart via StartSomeGood and Bucky Box to improve the local food system. In February 2013, Bucky Box launched the Local Food Startup Challenge to help local food businesses navigate through the startup phase quickly and with ease by bringing together the products, services, and exposure needed for success. Bucky Box has identified the key success factors for businesses as seed funding, affordable enterprise quality software, community buy-in, publicity, and small business support. Bucky Box has a $500k startup fund and is offering businesses that sign up for the challenge a Bucky Box account with a $1,000 free credit and a support pack.
StartSomeGood spotted the Bucky Box Challenge and realized immediately an opportunity for collaboration to enhance the experience for entrants. This collaboration takes the challenge to another level, opening up the possibility of crowdfunding on top of all the amazing services already provided by Bucky Box. Entrants to the challenge are encouraged to raise funds to kickstart their local food enterprises via StartSomeGood's crowdfunding platform.
