Never enough.

She had a mouth before she had words, she had lips and a tongue and a throat, she had eyes, she had arms and legs and hands and feet and ten fingers and ten toes. Eleven fingers initially, actually, but the one was useless and amputated. She had guts and a brain and a heart. All before the words.

So much of her, so much of her already before the words she fought to have and yet sometimes she still forgets that those are not everything. But her hands can massage the knots out of muscles too sore to relax on their own, her feet can carry her away so she can come back with tea. Her mouth can smile. Her lips can kiss. Her throat can hum as she leans her head on a shoulder.

Her guts can hate. Her heart can love. Her brain can say my family my family my family even without words, even when words fail and they always fail eventually.

She has words, it’s important that she has them, but they’re never enough, and there is so much more of her.

wicdiv for the opinion thing?

wicdiv, while subjectively one of my favorite series, is one of those comics that might not be for everybody. i don’t mean like “oh not everyone gets it” but i’ve seen a lot of legitimate criticism & personal reasons why they don’t like it, so yeah! personally i love it but i can understand that some people don’t

i think its a gorgeous comic, and, without delving into deeper allegories or whatever, i really like the concept. i absolutely love the characters–especially laura, and especially laura in the fandemonium arc. laura talking about feeling lost and thinking maybe she could fix that by saving others really resonated with me.

lol sorry that kind of digressed into just talkin bout laura. anyway. this comic aint perfect but i love it and i can’t wait to see where it goes
