Amelia rose a brow when she heard Tyler’s voice in her ear, quiet enough for only her to hear, a flush coloring her cheeks as she looked around. Dozens of businessmen were around them, mostly political types, from lawyers to mayors and even some photographers, all gathered for some other stuffy function that Amy really didn’t care about but she went to anyways support her father, to have the media see they were one big happy family. And apparently it was the same for Tyler and the rest of Senator Clarke’s family. 

She licked over her lips, glancing up at him but only barely since, well, their fathers were rivals. “Maybe you should keep those thoughts to yourself since we’re very much in public.” 

She was lying through her teeth though, since from the moment she saw Tyler walk into the room, all she wanted to do was run to him. She swallowed, glancing around before smoothing her hands over her modest skirt, “Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go find the lady’s room. I heard it was upstairs somewhere...” she trailed off casually and turned, but as she moved she brushed her hand against his, gave him a look that lingered for a second too long. 

And if anyone noticed Tyler trailing behind her a second later, hopefully they wouldn’t tell her father.
