The day was unusual. The team didn't have any missions to go on or any reports to file. Steve didn't wake up early to go on a morning run, Sam cooked breakfast, Natasha, Wanda, and Pietro went to the mall, Clint was away with his family, Bruce was out of the lab, and Tony and Pepper were out preparing for a party that was to be held later tonight.
You awoke before Bucky did and rubbed your eyes. You grinned when you saw him sound asleep and you bent over to press a tender kiss on his forehead. His eyes fluttered open and he grinned when he saw your face on top of his.
"Morning, doll," he said. His voice was gruff.
"Morning, baby. How'd you sleep?" Bucky leaned up to give you a quick kiss.
"I slept better than I have in a long while," he said. You pushed the covers off of you and you both got up, freshening yourselves up before joining everyone else in the living room.
"Morning, everyone," you greeted. Some of the team members were still in their pajamas and you laughed at Sam's Spongebob bottoms.
"Hey, don't laugh at me. Clint's kids bought them for me and they're damn comfortable," Sam said while he played eggs for himself. Bucky joined you soon after and slung his arm around your shoulders.
"Nice pants," he greeted to Sam. Sam rolled his eyes and picked up his plate and began eating.
"Where's Tony?" Bucky asked.
"Right here!" Tony said from behind. "I called the catering company, they'll be here at five to set up and decorate."
"Is there a theme?" Natasha asked. Last time, no one informed her and she was a fish out of water. Pepper laughed.
"No theme, don't worry." Natasha smiled and went back to watching the news. You looked up at Bucky.
"What are you wearing tonight?" you asked.
"Probably some slacks and a nice jacket. You?"
"I don't know. I don't own many party dresses. I think I'll just borrow one of Nat's," you replied.
The day dragged on and you left Bucky's side to meet Natasha in her room.
"You need to work some kind of miracle on me," you said when Natasha let you into her room.
"Not really. You've got the beauty part down. Let's go find you a dress," she said. She pulled out all of her dresses and you selected a few that you liked. "Don't wear the yellow one. It's itchy and I've been meaning to get rid of it," she said when you picked it up. You dropped it on the bed and Natasha handed you a black dress.
You put it on and looked in the mirror. It stopped at your knees and, being a summer dress, it didn't scream "A Tony Stark Party."
The last dress, a red dress, seemed perfect.
"That's the one," Natasha said. "Bucky's gonna have a hard time keeping his eyes off of you," she mused. You swatted her shoulder and put the dress on. She did you hair and makeup before you slipped on a pair of black pointed heels.
By the time you both reached the party, there were already people mingling around the room. You hadn't seen Bucky yet and Steve was the first person you saw.
"Hey, Steve!" you greeted with a wave. He smiled grateful at you.
"You look nice. I'm all alone because Sam decided to ditch me to dance," he said and sipped his drink.
"I'll take a dry martini," you told the bartender. "Extra olives." You grabbed your drink and sipped slowly, sitting on the barstool and crossed our legs. "Have you seen Bucky?" you asked Steve. He shook his head.
"Not yet. I thought you'd come with him." You shrugged and looked at the people around you. You finished your drink pretty quickly and ordered another. Bucky saw you and Steve sitting together and slung his arm around your shoulder.
"Took you long enough," you said to Bucky, playfully hitting his chest. He smiled at you.
"Sorry, baby. You weren't there to tie my tie." Bucky ordered a drink and was about to order one for you until he saw the glass in your hand. "I'm hoping you didn't have too much fun without me," he said. You shook your head.
"I'm just getting started." You stood up from the barstool and put your glass on the table, grabbing Bucky's tie and pulling him towards you.
“Don’t do anything I wouldn’t,” Steve said as he saw you two walk away. You gave him an apologetic smile, realising this would be the second time he would be left alone.
You turned around with Bucky’s tie still in your grasp and led him to the middle of the dance floor. Once you both were engulfed between a sea of people, you let his tie go and faced him.
“That’s quite a dress,” Bucky whispered in your ear. You wrapped your arms around his neck and he let his arm snake their way around your waist.
“I wore it just for you,” you teased. The music was loud and the both of you swayed against one another and soon enough, you and Bucky were pretty much on each other.
“I think it’s time we leave this party, don’t you?” he asked.
The both of you made your way upstairs and you led him to the bedroom. The farthest you both had gotten was making out with dry humping, but you were ready. You were ready to give yourself to Bucky and you were sure he wasn’t just some guy who would use you. You and Bucky had been dating for a few months, after all.
Bucky’s lips attacked your neck and you tilted your head back against the wall. Abruptly, you pushed him until he was laying on the bed.
“You look so good, doll,” he said, looking at you with hungry eyes.
“Take me,” you whispered once you put your body on top of his.
“Are you sure?” Bucky asked as you peppered kisses against his jawline.
“Absolutely. I trust you.” It didn’t take more for Bucky to flip you over and for Bucky to begin feeling his way up your dress. He pushed your dress up to your hips and caressed your skin until his fingers reached your underwear.
“May I?” he asked. You nodded and pressed a tender kiss to his lips to reassure him. “If you want me to stop, I’ll stop.” He gave you a reassuring smile and returned your kiss.
When you were both finished, he turned to you and cupped your face with his hand.
“You are so beautiful,” he said.
“I trust you, Bucky,” you said. He smiled lazily at you and caressed your face with his thumb.
“Go to sleep, baby, you look tired.” You nodded and rested your head against Bucky’s chest and fell asleep to the sound of his heartbeat.
