Under One Sky: Budayaw Visual Arts Exhibition Under One Sky is one of the major components of Budayaw that showcases the visual arts from selected artists of Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines. It aims to celebrate the notion that there is common ground, that as part of the Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) region, we can all walk in search of peace and respect in this world. It is also a concept that all humanity lives under one sky and that, therefore, any community cannot operate as a solitary creature, thus the compositions to be exhibited will explore and interweave the many different styles, genres and traditions at work in today's dynamic VISUAL ARTS scene within BIMP-EAGA Region. The exhibit is curated by Prof. Abraham Garcia. ATM: Watching Maharadia Lawana featuring Sining Kambayoka Ensemble (MSU Marawi), Sining Kandidilimudan (MSU Maguindanao), Kaliwat Performing Arts Inc., Kabpapagariya Ensemble (MSU GenSan) and Kagay-anon Performing Arts Guild. ASEAN countries have their respective versions of Ramayana, "a Sanskrit epic poem about Rama, an avatar of the god Vishnu, who saves his wife Sita, an avatar of the goddess Lakshmi, after she’s abducted by Ravana, a multi-headed demon king." In the Philippines, "we have the Meranaw versions which include a portion in the Darangen epic song, from which the singkil dance is derived, and the story of Maharadia Lawana (King Ravana). The Darangen has been declared one of UNESCo’s Masterpieces of Oral and Intangible Heritages of Humanity." ATM: Attending the Tboli Tribal Leaders' Meeting at Ikat Exhibit, SM GenSan Trade Hall. The meeting is about the presentation and conferement of the Design Studies of the 15 Guardians of Lake Holon (Tboli, South Cotabato). Present in the event are DOT 12 Regional Director Nelly Nita Dillera, the 27 Tboli Tribal Leaders, Mayor Dibu Tuan, Shine Perong, the UP Diliman Volunteers from UP College of Fine Arts, and representatives from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA).
