Geats took the game consoles in the intense BuffaGeats Divorce arc that happened like 3 DGP rounds ago and that's why he's so bitter.

Maybe Geats broke up with Buffa through winning and in the new world they were suddenly broken up and didn't tell him or anything.

And the real reason he did that was bc he absolutely could not let himself get too attached or it would interfere with his Game and can't have that but for all his bravado he's absolutely not man enough to level with him about it
