Last night was eventful! I paid off my last ever home loan to Tom Nook AND finished my bug encyclopedia! Exciting! All my encyclopedias are finished, now. I have one more thing for the museum... geeze.
Here have a Woolly Aphid mommy for your troubles
Is there something you've been dying to post about but haven't had the excuse to talk about yet? A question you've always wanted to get so you could ramble about it but haven't gotten it? Please use this ask to answer that unasked question. :)
I LOVE YOU ANON
OKAY. SO. You guys know about my Bugtale AU I made?? (If not it should be under #bug encyclopedia) well I started developing more world building!!!
Complete with a unique set of language systems, border politics, transport system, and Ant Hill architecture!
I havent drawn any of these yet but id written some guidelines for myself and oughhh I love it so much!!!!!
Mainly, the 3-word sentence structure of the main bug society where they take their thoughts and musy condense it down to 3 words at a time.
For example if you wanted to ask someone to go with you to a new coffee shop, you would say:
"You-me-go. Coffee-shop-new."
And usually this would be in easy to understand English but actually! Bug hybrids use a set of clicking noises to convey their meaning. Using a range of frequency, and volume!
Dont get me STARTED on the transportation. They use a kind of train...? Bus....? System with Flavus Centipede hybrids who stop at depots. The Flavus can carry most lighter bugs and are cared for by an administration of Butterflies and other utility-based bugs.
New addition to the Bugtale world!
1/3 Bugs from Bugtale
Someone wanted more so I made more! Here are the Ant hybrids of Bugtale ^^
They're mainly used as laborers to haul materials and collect resources but a lot of wealthy hybrids use them as bodyguards.
The Ant Queen produces hundreds of identical ant hybrids every year and hires them out to bring more income and feed the rest of the colony.
They also use regular ants to communicate with both their Queen and other ant hybrids. But this can also be used to sense the area around them for scouting missions or battle.
They've developed a larger hole in one of their sockets to house smaller colonies of ants in each hybrid to use personally apart from the Queen.
2/4 More Bugtale bugs ^^
Moths are kind of the underdog of bug society. Most of them are considered 'ugly' or 'disgusting' because they are always compared to their sleeker Butterfly cousins. Their wings, while range in colors, are furred and therefore only select moth breeds are considered desirable.
Those Moths are then given armbands to signify their exception and entry as a model or higher working bug.
Rosy Maple moths and Milionia moths are one of the few moth breeds to be given exception to their whole subspecies.
Many designer and fashion bugs enjoy using these species for their shows or to just sit around their homes and look pretty.
Less desirable moths are then funneled into other jobs like rangers or spies due to their great camouflage skills.
Moth fluff is also sold in markets as a very soft material to use in nesting or fabrics.
Butterflies are commonly put into idol roles, musician roles, etc. Entertainers and talented at catching eyes and hearts of many bugs.
They're usually benevolent and good but some may be tempted by fame and fortunes.
They can also become representatives of certain important bugs, conduct official business, and general diplomatic missions.
The last and least traveled path of a butterfly is to be a toxin researcher where certain species of butterfly offer their blood to be studied for it's poisonous properties.
They come in a variety of colors and patters so they are easy to become models for beetles in need.
