What do you think would happen if muse was still alive when Leif woke back up, just old and likely near the end of their life?

I think there would be a lot of tears and a lot of conflicted feelings.

On the one hand, that's her husband she thought she'd never see again.

On the other hand, that's... not really her husband. That's not the father of her children, that's not the moth she married, and it doesn't look like him. That's a parasite that's probably as confused as she is and somehow ended up with his memories and... she may not know quite how to feel about it.

She's too old and tired to begrudge him his friends, I think. She'd probably want him to continue being happy and have some closeness to the family. But I don't know if she'd want to spend much time with him. Maybe there's things she wished she got to say that she would, maybe she wouldn't. She'd be conflicted, I suspect. So would Leif.

I imagine Leif isn't sure whether he even should approach her, but ultimately figures that closure is important for Muse, in this case. That she might appreciate it.

Either way, probably a great deal of sobbing and maybe some hugs.

i ADORE how muse is so open-ended. the only things we really have about her is she was most likely pink, she was a moth, she was "loud, confident, and outgoing", had "pretty strong kicks", basically wore the pants in the relationship, and. thats about it.

its implied that she's dead, but its never really confirmed. theres no grave, no mention, no mourning besides leif's own grief. thats all we have on muse. and, honestly? thats what i LOVE about her character - she can be unique depending on the person!

i adore games that do this, because its a great way to involve the community. dont leave major plotholes, but just small things up to interpretation. we know enough about muse for it to tell the story of leif's past, or what he remembers of it, but not too much to the point that its like reading a history textbook.

like, personally, i think shes out there. maybe something happened to her, but i dont think she's quite dead. sure, thats just my leif/muse brain clinging onto hope, but i have lore behind my ideas, and thats all because the bug fables devs gave that freedom, intentionally or not.

ive seen so many amazing lore ideas, plenty of stunning designs, and its really got me appreciative of the devs, the community, and everyone else. its also whats made the game stick so hard in my brain. i have never gotten over this game, even if my hyperfixation momentarily shifted a few months back. (i think i associate bug fables with tumblr now tho because every time i open it all that i can think is "mmmm silly bug trauma" HDFGKLJS)

tl;dr i fucking LOVE muse and her lore slash lack thereof. im drawing her as soon as i have enough storage. MUSE MY BELOVED!!!!
