Hello there! Mostly fanart and reblogs over here
Like what I do? I have a ko-fi! -> https://ko-fi.com/spectralgecko
I'm an artist, writer, and occasionally a musician. Also an available proofreader.
Hey y'all! Lots of fanart and eclectic fandom posting over here, plus miscellaneous postings from life and a lot of reblogs.
Tagging is perfectly fine, and the ask box is open if you have any questions!
My original content output is not super consistent. If you were hoping for any kind of regular content short of reblogs and silly day-to-day stories, alas, this is not the right blog. I sporadically drop art into the void and then disappear for a month. I do have an art tag below, though, for easy perusal!
If it takes a while for me to respond or get to an ask, don't worry - I've probably seen it and haven't had a chance to get to it. You're welcome to check in, though (I may answer privately).
School work and life in general eat up most of my time. Sundays are pretty reliably free, though.

Other Blogs:
@sqarletsworldlesswandering - Various shenanigans about the gorgeous indie game Worldless (100/10 recommend it - Steam has a free demo here).
@sqarletgecko - A separated blog for more original stuff and official stuff. Dormant for the time being (also, my apologies for the confusion with the deactivated version of the account - I needed to rearrange, and now it's all confusing)
@bugfablesampedau - A designated blog for all my Bug Fables Amped shenanigans.

AU tags are "[fandom] AU: [name]". I will also often have a shorter version that's just "[abbreviation] AU". Ex: TSBS AU: Everything is Fine; EiF AU
Fandoms:
While by no means a comprehensive list, here's some stuff you can find on my blog at the moment. The gist is "indie games and some youtube shows."
Stuff I've made content for:
The Security Breach Shows: Mostly TSAMS, LAES, and rarely MGAFS. Some of that is more tangential and AU related, so those don't have show tags besides "tsbs au." The one that's currently got an actual AU tag is "Everything is Fine"/"EiF." Bunch of OC and concept designs. There's also the Hyper Light Drifter/HLD AU. I'm not very active in this community anymore. I will maybe finish the astral designs sometime.
Worldless: I occasionally reblog Worldless content here, but that mostly stays over on my other blog, mentioned above.
Black Resin: A small game currently looking to be published. It's a neat lil' game! You can find the demo here.
Portal: I've got some crossover stuff with that so far.
Minecraft/Steve Saga: Yes the Steve Saga is... quite old by now. But I rediscovered some old art I had for it, so that's going here. There's an AU/Speculative Worldbuilding project for it that's tagged "Worlds and Wonders"/WaW.
Bug Fables: I finally made art for this! Lots of miscellaneous stuff and AU stuff. The main AUs I have are the Dead Lander Hoaxe AU and Bug Fables Amped. Acolyte is in progress.
Other stuff I've not made (much) content for yet but enjoy:
Participation in their unique becoming brought me some relief, and so I wanted to draw them together ~
(For my version of Ghost, I prefer Dream No More ending and take it as my canon, while the Pantheon one is too… ambitious, all-consuming and "evil". Though I imagine they still have it as part of who they are, and so I drew them as a Void God)
guy who's having gauzy idealized wife flashbacks for the whole adventure but it turns out she isn't dead or anything he just really misses her and wants to get home
Just unearthed/rediscovered some positively ancient writing projects.
I think I've gotten a little bit better at just. enjoying my younger self having fun. The writing isn't good per se, but I can hear what frame of mind I was in, I can feel the exuberance for... eh, probably five or six different media hyperfixations colliding into one messy, terrible, yet wonderfully happy unfinished writing project. I was clearly in a particular phase and clearly having fun with it. It's fun to appreciate how much fun little me was having, even if the prose is incredibly weak.
Might have to do a side by side at some point with the original clip and then something based on it that I write nowadays. Could be fun.
Grace the brand new Eridian with the pain tolerance of a clumsy human who had bruises on his legs from constantly tripping and was half burned by a boiling alien atmosphere gets what is essentially a tattoo.
RANTING TIME !
As the Eridians were finishing up his body, they asked if he wanted them to add any carvings or embellishments to it before he moved in- he had expressed that he wanted the scar of Rocky’s claw transferred over, and they could actually replicate what it would look like in the growing process. Sorta just scraping the carapace and letting it heal, doing that until the scar was visible and permanent
he also wanted something to remember earth. A carving of his home planet on his other preferred arm- but when the science team said it would be super easy to carve Into the body while it was inert, he wanted to be in it and conscious to get the carving. It was a part of Eridian culture he wanted to experience.
so he gets the carving and doesn’t realize he’s supposed to be reacting way more to the slight stinging pain of the craving tools. After this Rocky scolds him and makes sure he knows that if he should ever feel that pain or anything close to it- to tell him or anyone immediately- because it means your carapace has been damaged and your now vulnerable to all kinds of nasty diseases and stuff.
Eridians evolved to be pretty much impermeable and very sturdy- it’s not normal to feel really any sort of pain. Humans are kinda just always in some sort of discomfort, so Grace had learned to tune it out so much that he’s kind of a super-eridian who can stand a lot of pain lol
I could keep ranting but I’ll save it for more sketches 🫡
