Hey! I’m so sorry you had a shitty day and I’m even more sorry about the late reply but I hope I can still lift your spirits😘😘 (this got a tad long for a drabble oh well)38: I think it’s broken.
"Promise you can fix Diana?” Renee, Polly’s youngest, asked Betty.
“Of course,” Betty said, smiling.
Which was how, now, Betty was trying hard to somehow screw Wonder Woman’s head back on. Jughead was watching her from the bed as she sat on the floor with gluesticks and rubber bands lying around her. When she had tried and failed for the tenth time, Betty dropped the action figure and threw her hands into the air in defeat.
“Um, Betts?” Jughead said, trying to hide the smile creeping onto his face.
“What?”
“I think it’s broken,” he said and she glared at him, shooting daggers at him with her eyes and his laughter bubbled to the surface, only making her mood worse. The next morning, when Renee went to school, Betty dragged Jughead with her to the toy store.
“Why don’t you just tell her the truth? The world is a harsh place, Betty - learning that at a young age can only be good for her!” Jughead groaned as she pulled him into the store.
“Shut up, Jug. She’s five,” she said, walking up to one of the people in the store and showing them the broken doll. After explaining that she either needed it fixed or the same model, the man pulled out the same figure, claiming it was the last piece. Betty readily took it.
She braked hard and Jughead stepped hard to keep from flying forward, feeling something break under his foot. Fuck. Not again. Betty evidently heard it too because she looked at him with a “don’t you dare”.
“Um, Betts?” He said, reaching down and picking up the action figure with the completely dented torso.
“What?” She breathed, not looking at him.
“I... think it’s broken.”
And, for some reason, that made her laugh. He relaxed and soon they were both laughing hysterically, sitting in a car, holding a Wonder Woman action figure with a dented torso.
