Ever since Kai came back, something felt…off. Lloyd didn’t know what it was, but something about Kai was different. It was like an eerie fog that always followed… it was something that terrified Lloyd. Something that made his gut tell him he needed to get far, far away.

Every hug, every heartfelt conversation, everything from then on felt strange. Lloyd scolded himself, this was his brother after all! Why was Lloyd scared of the very person who swore to protect him? It was stupid… it was completely irrational… but the worry kept resurfacing.

It felt like pure dread. It felt bitter. Like someone cast a curse on him. It hurt Lloyd. It hurt that deep down; he was growing scared of his big brother. The same big brother who saved him from the volcano. The same big brother who almost drowned to pull him out of a river. The same big brother who gave up his powers so Lloyd could survive. Still, his instincts screamed at him to run, to hide, to protect himself. From who? From his protector. From the person whose warm embrace made Lloyd forget all about his problems.

It made Lloyd feel selfish. Selfish that he was afraid of the man who would give his life with no hesitation for Lloyd. But still, that didn’t stop Lloyd’s hair from sticking up every time Kai entered a room. Did everything Kai did for him mean nothing?? All of the comfort, all of the love, repaid by feelings fear and caution…

Centipedes like moisture…. Interesting….

Kai’s element causes his average body temperature to be extremely high (usually around 100-120 degrees) which probably causes him to be super dry, but clearly not enough to kill him. You see, this is important because of the previous statement.

Buggy Kai needs more water than he did before, but can’t because his body just evaporates whatever isn’t necessary. Which means that while he’s getting enough to live, he’s constantly dehydrated.

And he’s too scared to find other ways to help himself, because he’s scared (obviously irrationally) of being found out.

Poor baby is in a constant cycle of dehydration… give him a hug :C

Centipede Kai….

He was in the cocoon…

What if that was the first step? What if, gradually, he started getting more buggy? What if the residue from the cocoon infected him? The possibilities are endless people…

And Kai doesn’t even notice, because he’s too busy spending his time trying not to get eaten.

Gonna go in depth later but wanted to put this out here because I ain’t letting this go. I’ve been screaming about buggy Kai for weeks now and there’s no way I’m not gonna leave this be
