It had been a long day of tapings, his body still wired awake from the time difference between Los Angeles and Orlando. He managed to slip away from his friends who had gotten him the gig with Lucha Underground, washing up quickly before leaving the studio, only one thought on his mind: reconnection. Knowing who lived nearby, a name and face he hadn’t heard or seen in years, it was with a brief tap at his phone that he sent a message, hoping that it would reach its destination.
[msg;] hey you free? i’m in town and figured we could catch up [msg;] kinda feeling like hanging out on the beach. you down?
He pocketed the phone, taking the solitary time in the car ride down to the beach to clear his thoughts, and to collect whatever these weird nervous feelings in his stomach were. It’s not like he didn’t know Natalie, there was an old picture of him floating around the internet of him with a Buggy Nova shirt, they’d bonded over a shared interest in horror and wrestling.
They’d both seen the ugly side of developmental for WWE.
As he pulled up to park at the pier, his phone had happily buzzed with an answer in the affirmative. Choosing to sit on the hood of his car, he waited patiently, watching the sun setting slowly over the water, hoping to trance out enough to calm his errant nerves.
