#bugmeshi #bugmeshi leif #art in situations #their skin was the hardest part of this to do we had to use a bone texture with custom colors to get even close #there weren't any good options to make their cloak accurate either (probably because it wouldn't mesh with the arm posing options)#so we just gave them both a big coat and a cape

leif is the one who just so happens to know how to do necromancy and it's completely unrelated to their own undead-ness. like it's just something they learned off-screen and they treat it with the same nonchalance as learning how to float with ice or use the bubble shield on command. if the one time they had to actually cast it didn't go horribly wrong it would have never been brought up again but they have to be placed on watch so they don't turn anyone else into a dragon on accident

my brain is Not working well enough to make organized posts because i melted it on purpose but i'm trying anyway. i think for last names of bugmeshi characters... vi just follows the regular halfling naming convention so her full name is "violet bers" but she does a weird thing where she goes by a shortened version of her first name around everyone instead of the shortened version being a friends-only nickname. kabbu also follows the dwarf naming convention of "[name] of [birth locale]" so whatever the dwarf name for the north is is his last name. and i think for tallmen we're gonna use the latin family names for each character's usual species, so leif's name is either "leif pyral" (from pyralidae) or "leif saturni" (from saturniidae, which would be muse's last name)

when we mentioned that bugmeshi leif was already a mage before That Whole Thing happened to them, they were pretty much exclusively support/healing, a bit more like a cleric actually

they weren't good at destructive spells then but now after getting chimera'd they have a lot better mana storage and lower level ice magic is basically free
