OHH, your builder being like fluttershy 😭❤️
I really love the old world survivor idea!! Did she manage to save anything from her old life? Is there something she wishes she could've saved? Does Pen discover her true identity at any point?
Sorry for lots of questions, I'm really excited to read what you're comfortable sharing!!
Thank you so much for being willing to read about my Builders.
Honestly, their backstory is so extensive that I even made a separate post just to add extra lore.
If we follow the most original version of the story—keeping it less OOC—then my Builders have basically already become people with nothing left.,only have there body and memory,
But they still have this glorious motherworld: old-world ruins, ancient relics, buried technologies, and forgotten civilizations—still waiting to be excavated, restored, and brought back into the light.
Yukiyo would focus on restoring ancient artworks and cultural artifacts. She also wants a respectful heterosexual partner—someone who truly respects her—and she wants a family… and children.
Serjio would care about crops, spices, food supplies, fruit—things like that. On a broader level, he’s focused on rebuilding the entire system and structure of the world.
Would Pen eventually discover their true identities? Yes.
A sentimental girl who secretly cries while staring at the stars late at night… and an sunproff vampire ally who simply won’t die—Pen would absolutely investigate them alongside Matilda. He might even find their wanted posters through interstellar broadcasts.
And now: SUPER ULTRA “OOOOOOCCCC” TIME!
On the surface, it looks like a loud, carefree church guard dealing with a newly arrived Builder girl.
In reality, it’s a confrontation between a highly trained intelligence agent and a cold, ruthless engineer who once developed planet-destroying, star-killer-class weaponry (and she might be suffering from amnesia).
In my version, the effects of my female Builder’s immortality experiment begin to fail. She starts to grow again—she starts to age.
Yukiyo’s biological age was frozen at nineteen, but now the “freeze” is lifting. She’s a fiercely rebellious girl. In the future, she once ran away from her overbearing parents—escaping an arranged marriage, escaping the cliché life of “marry, obey, and give birth.” That was why she chose interstellar study.
And because of that, she cannot view the My Time universe with the “Overview Effect” perspective the way her teammate—the male Builder, Serjio, a successful immortal—can. He can look at everything from a macro, cosmic distance. She can’t.
Her fragile flesh-and-blood body has returned. Hormones that never had the chance to exist for centuries—dopamine, estrogen, prolactin—begin to surge in a kind of revenge overflow.
It turns her into someone much softer, far more sentimental, far more easily hurt.
(Don’t worry—I also write another Builder who carries the rational side. But Yukiyo carries the emotional side.)
She used to be the one resisting her parents’ pronatalism, which was exactly why she left her family. But later—after the disasters in the My Time world—she loses contact with them entirely. Now she is a helpless, lonely girl who truly feels like she has nothing left.
She begins to rethink pronatalism. She starts analyzing what it really means—especially after witnessing the extinction of other organic life forms.
That brutally selective process.
The extreme loneliness of having almost no fellow Earthlings by her side.
The despair of watching her homeworld collapse while being utterly powerless.
The repeated agony of losing not just her family, but her entire homeland.
And wounds even deeper than that…
On top of the hormonal impact, all of this forces her into reflection—and even repentance—for her past rebellion.
And in the My Time world, there is also a kind of “magic rule”: if you don’t marry, you can’t have children.
This forces her to lower herself, to compromise—and under the influence of those hormones, she begins to reshape herself into something like a Yamato Nadeshiko woman, trying to “soften” Pen, who claims he “doesn’t like the concept of marriage.”
(But in the game, Pen literally prepares a diamond ring—so at that point I can only go build my Duvos plotline.
when Pen has to hold himself back. He can’t expose his true identity.
He pretends to dislike the idea of marriage, keeping everything carefully contained.
But the moment victory is secured—
everything he’s been suppressing detonates all at once.
)
There’s also the issue of their bodies. Serjio would say something like:汝身乃系血与肉,爷活千载尚不愁
“Your body is flesh and blood. I’ve lived for a thousand years no need fear anything.”
But Yukiyo has to worry: she can hurt, she can tire, she can be injured, she can die. She can feel heartbreak. She can cry.
And that’s exactly why Pen gives her an immense sense of safety and protection—so much that she genuinely admires him and feels grateful from the bottom of her heart.
(In the game, Pen even carries an exhausted Builder home when she collapses outside. And there were earlier “hero saves the girl” moments too.)
The destruction of the old world is partly inspired by The Animatrix worldview.:The Animatrix - The Second Renaissance Part II (1/2) [HD]
My Builders are deeply afraid of machines and robots because of that history.
But when they see Pen crushing steel with his bare hands,
they can’t help but feel a sense of awe—
almost reverence.
Yukiyo, on one hand, is grateful for how much Pen helped her during that period.
On the other hand, she is still analyzing—
If her future offspring inherit Pen’s genetic traits, would they survive better in this post-apocalyptic world? It seems she may no longer be able to do it herself. Could her descendants return to the cosmic stage in the future?
And then the hormonal explosion pushes her into becoming completely love-brained.
Even without the hormones that make her soft, she would still choose Pen—
but she would coldly reduce him to:
a chromosomal contributor to the genetic makeup of her future offspring,
and—
a stepping stone toward seizing control of Duvos. even the the whole my time wolrld。。
Yukiyo and Pen likely realized long ago that they are both people with very deep minds and very deep masks.
