Humans! You know we are the only animals in this entire universe who are “ bipeds” meaning, we are the only ones who can walk on two feet and believe it or not that's our “superpower”. Anyways, the point is, today's modern technology has given us devices that we hold and view while hunched over. And the interesting part is that these devices andadvancements are actually “devolving” our spines a bit! How?? Part of what makes us human, is our ability to walk upright and yet here we are crouching, where we once stood tall. Today you take a peek into any office, any school, or watch your friends around you. What do you see? Either people are hunched over their desk or slumped over their smartphones. Today I am going to share few things about having a good posture. Good posture is not something that we have to be aware of only while exercising, So what is good posture anyway and why is it so important? Basically posture refers to the body's alignment and positioning with respect to the ever-present force of gravity. Whether we are standing, sitting or lying down, gravity exerts a force on our joints, ligaments and muscles. Good posture entails distributing the force of gravity through our body so no one structure is overstressed. Everyone knows that what happens if you dont keep your posture correct while exercising, right? See, Our bodies are made to go through from millions and millions of cycles of movements. And our bodies are designed in such a way that, there is constant ongoing wear and tear process to keep the system fully functional all time. Now keeping bad posture in a day to day life, it may not injure you, but it will definitely speed up! The wear and tear process, resulting in postural problems at very early age like Spondylitis, Slipdisk, Frozen shoulders... bla bla bla. So here is what you should do,To start off with just start walking, sitting and working around with nutral spine (its that simple) and add some form of physical activity in your daytoday life.
