Getting Started with Bullet Journaling 📖 | Hope everyone is doing well !! College has been kicking my butt lately but I am back with another smol general guide I made for the UCD art committee :D
What is a bullet journal?
It is basically a customizable to-do list, to help you plan your days in advance, and to keep yourself organised! A bullet journal is great because it’s your bullet journal and you can use it for your own needs such as studying, work, personal etc.
What is the difference between a regular planner and a bullet journal?
To be very honest, it’s the same thing! However, there are times in a regular planner, the space you need is not enough for a particular day. A bullet journal helps with this kind of situation! You can customise how much space you would need for that day. A bullet journal is suitable for those who have a creative mind like me, who needs a space to doodle around.
So what kind of notebook should I use for my bullet journal?
Any notebooks would be fine as long it serves the purpose to store your to-do list and such. Studyblrs in this community are often spotted using Moleskine and Leuchtturm1917 notebooks but there are a slightly at a pricier side if you are new with bullet journaling. However, many also use MUJI notebooks which are a cheaper alternative to the two above. But, seriously, you can use any notebooks you have at home. It does not have to be from a fancy brand.
What are the things you would need for bullet journaling?
All you need for bullet journaling would be your notebook which you will be using as your bullet journal and a pen, to write down your to-do list. To make your weekly spreads more pleasing to your eyes, you can use washi tapes and colourful markers such as Crayola. Some people use calligraphy pens to make their lettering pretty. Some use Tombow dual brush pens, Artline Stix and more. Some also print pictures or uses magazine cut-outs and paste in on their spreads to cover up their empty spaces or even their mistakes. You do not need to have fancy stationery for bullet journaling!
Some bullet journal pages you can try out other than your weekly spreads:
o Stationery swatches – brush pens, mildliners, washi tapes, etc
o Movies to watch
o Books to read
o Motivation page
o Doodle page
o Academic page – where you write down your classes and goals for that class
o Songs recommendation page
Here are a few of my favourite bullet journal spreads by other amazing studyblrs:
