Travel Diary | Bukal Falls
After almost a year of not exploring new adventures and places, I am finally back with a new travel diary! Gosh, at last after 11 long months I can finally use my hashtag #toldyoushecangoplaces again!
The B and I initially planned a day trip for just us two but we ended up tagging along all my siblings. It was exciting because it was our youngest sister’s first trek and travel with us. We agreed to try Bukal falls. I’ve searched about this place before and the photos on the internet were all magical and beautiful. I just knew it would be a great experience for all of us. Also, my brother, Ryan, have already been there so it was a breeze for me to no longer worry and plan about our whole itinerary.
HOW TO GET THERE:
(From Santa Rosa, Laguna)
Ride a jeepney bound to Crossing - 20php/each (Balibago terminal or you can wait for them to pass along Waltermart, Santa Rosa)
alight along Waltermart, Calamba then wait for buses bound to Santa Cruz - 61php/each
drop off is at DLTB station (approx 2 hrs travel time)
Ride a jeepney bound to Majayjay - 33php/each
alight tryk terminal bound to Bukal falls (approx 45 mins travel time)
take a tricycle going to the Brgy. Bukal Multi Purpose Hall - 15php/each (5 mins travel time) (This is where you will register and start the trail)
(From Manila)
Ride a bus bound to Santa Cruz (Jacliner Cubao/Buendia terminals or DLTB Buendia terminal)
drop off is at DLTB station (approx 2 hrs travel time)
Ride a jeepney bound to Majayjay - 33php/each
alight tryk terminal bound to Bukal falls (approx 45 mins travel time)
take a tricycle going to the Brgy. Bukal Multi Purpose Hall - 15php/each (5 mins travel time) (This is where you will register and start the trail)
It took us about 30 minutes trekking time to reach the falls. The trail was easy even for beginners yet there are still parts that can be challenging, steep and slippery specially when you are about to reach the stream and waterfall. Proper trekking shoes/sandals are very much encouraged to avoid accidents.
We went there on a Sunday and I was surprised to see a huge number of visitors! It seems like the municipal doesn’t limit head counts per day.
(You will have to cross this man-made bridge to reach the falls)
We brought packed lunch and had a little feast on top of some big ass rocks.
If you try to search Bukal falls on Google most photos will give you a very peaceful thin little falls with crystal clear blue and green plunge pool. Yet when we arrived there, the weather was gloomy and it was drizzling almost the entire time making the current (I guess) 2-3x faster and the volume bigger than usual. Tho we were not able to see the enchanting plunge pool I am really happy to experience such spectacular waterfall.
Things/Info to consider:
Given the fact that there were many visitors when we came there, I am happy to see that the entire place is still clean and trash free. (May we all keep it this way please!)
There is a Sari-sari store available in the middle of the trek
Expect to swim in an ice cold stream
TAKE NOTE that the last trip for jeepneys that are bound back to Santa Cruz is at 6-6:30PM
(If you are also from Santa Rosa, Laguna) You may opt to get off at the Balibago van terminal near Jollibee Pagsanjan (jeepney drivers are familiar with it) (1oophp/each)
There is a small Bed and Breakfast hotel available in front of the Municipal hall if you want to spend the night there.
Fees to consider:
Environmental fee 20PHP/each (to be paid at the multi purpose hall)
Tour guide fee 300PHP (I think this is the standard fee) (to be paid at the multi purpose hall)
Life vest rental 50php/each (this is optional tho)
Shower fee 10php/each
Budget per head is around 400php (without food) for a group of 5

Cold but refreshing water of Bukal Falls. 💦🍃 #zayzaexplores #jzwanders #bukalfalls #waterfalls #nature (at Bukal Falls, Majayjay, Laguna)
The water is so clear, clean, cold and refreshing. I don't have any plans of getting wet. Just seeing the waterfalls is enough for me and so I thought... The more I looked at the water the more I'm tempted to take a dip. #zayzaexplores #waterfalls #bukalfalls #nature (at Bukal Falls, Majayjay, Laguna)
