LYNEY
You're currently at one of Fontaine's finest restaurants, food as extravagant as the former Hydro Archon herself.
You sit in front of Lyney, letting him gossip about his latest performance, and the onslaught of mora they had thrown. He speaks excitedly, animating the scene with his hands, grinning everytime your eyes light up at a particularly exaggerated scenario.
Suddenly, you lean over the table to take one of his croquettes, something the magician doesn't even blink at, until you hold forkful in front of his mouth, pausing his rambling with the hovering food.
He's about to let himself be fed by you so he can continue his rambling, eyes sparkling with mischief but not commenting, until you speak.
“Eat up, Lynette.”
He blinks. Hard. A smirk graces his before he theatrically places a hand on his head, exclaiming dramatically, “My beloved, calling me another's name! How tragic, mon amour has deemed someone better, more worthy..”
You can't help but chuckle at the sight, rolling your eyes as you watch him flail.
“I've been replaced by my own sister! Our names are similar, but not that similar! How utterly cruel, merciless, ruthless—” his words are cut off by his mouth being stuffed with his meal. He bites, and swallows obediently, contentedly eating and immediately dropping the whole ordeal at being fed.
“These are really nice,” Lyney remarks, reaching for his own fork and grabbing another, but before he eats it he mutters one last thing, “unlike some people…”
AETHER
You've been talking with the Traveller for the past hour, holding his hand as the two of you stroll through the outskirts of Mondstadt.
"Paimon thinks today is super sunny! The perfect day for shopping," Paimon exclaims, hovering in front you two with a mischievous smirk.
"Why would we want to go shopping?" you ask, narrowing your eyes at Paimon's expression.
"Ehe, no reason! Wouldn't it just be so nice to be together! It is Traveller's birthday tomorrow!" Paimon suggests knowingly.
Speaking of which, you can't help but grin. Are you about to do something you'll regret? Yes. But are you that reckless? Also yes.
"Oh yeah, happy early birthday, Lumine!" you remark.
Aether doesn't realise at first, "Thanks!" ..but then he blinks. Hard. "Wait, Lumine?" he echos.
"No, I said Aether!" you reply.
"Paimon's pretty sure Y/N said Lumine.." Paimon adds unhelpfully.
"How do you even know her name, i've never-" Aether begins, but just sighs. You know a lot, honestly. He's learnt to stop asking you.
Still...
"Lumine.." he repeats with a slight pout, eyes becoming a touch glassy. Like a puppy being reminded it can't have treats.
"No wait, I'm sorry-!!" you flail.
He wipes his eyes, managing a shaky smile as he just echoes, "Lumine..." with a hint of longing.
You immediately wrap your arms tightly around the blond in apology. "It was a prank baby, I'm so sorry-" you ramble.
How could you? Make the sunshine cry? Just how cruel are you?
Thankfully for you, Aether is quite forgiving when it comes to those he loves. He wraps his arms around you and buries his face into your shoulder, mumbling incoherent sentences.
"Paimon's going to leave you two.. to it. Paimon will bring back some Fishermen's toast from Good Hunter.." Paimon says while slowly flying away. You throw her your pouch of Mora without taking your eyes off Aether, raking a hand comfortingly through his golden hair.
He's crying, but you don't mind. "It'll be okay, she'll come back to you eventually. It's just an emo phase.."
DILUC
You've been sitting in Dawn Winery for a few hours now, waiting for your husband Diluc to finish his shift quietly. He'll talk to you whenever there's no customers to serve as you sit at the bar, and he'll refill your drink whenever it finishes.
However, while you don't mind waiting, it's.. boring. Usually, you'd have Venti or Dahlia to gossip with, but the bard is out doing archons knows what, and the deacon is currently preaching.
Which leaves you, tragically, alone. Not even Kaeya is here.
..actually, while you think of it, that might just by one way to get your beloved's attention!
"Would you like another refill, my love?" Diluc asks casually at noticing your empty glass, already with the bottle.
"Yes please," you say. After taking a sip of the drink, right before Diluc turns, you add, "Thanks, Kaeya."
Diluc pauses. And then he slowly turns to you, eyes slightly narrowed. Whether in confusion or annoyance is something not even you can't fully decipher.
And at seeing the pull of a faint smirk on your lips? The redhead just sighs. "You've been spending too much time with him."
Before you can reply, he adds, "What part of me screams 'Cavalry-less Cavalry Captain' to you, dearest?" the term of endearment is sarcastic, but the insult isn't.
You snicker before you can think otherwise, which just earns you an eye roll. "It was a joke!" you exclaim.
"And was he, by chance, the one who sparked that idea into your mind?" Diluc deadpans knowingly, tone deceivingly flat.
"Maaaaybe," you sing song back unapologetically.
Diluc just blinks, and faces another customer, ending the conversation with nothing more then, "Stay away from him. We'll talk about this later."
"Love you, Diluc!" you retort playfully, blowing him a kiss from your seat.
"I love you too, darling, but archons you give me a headache sometimes."
KAEYA
Hand in hand with the Cavalry Captain Kaeya, you walk through the city of Mondstadt idly.
You talk with anyone you know who passes –which is predictably most, if not all, of mondstadt. Kaeya let's you do so without compliant.
Of course, there's the few that ask why Kaeya isn't on patrol, but they're always met with 'My job is to watch over Mondstadt, and by being in it, I'm doing exactly that! Is it so wrong of me to want to do so beside my princess?'
All is going well, your boyfriend showering you with mora galore for your mini shopping spree, until-
"Hey Diluc, could you please-"
You're cut off with a gasp. You blink and turn to the Cavalry Captain, tilting your head as if unaware of what you did to elict such reaction.
"D-did I just hear that right? No, surely not! Diluc?" he even dramatically stutters, playing the part of a scandalised victorian widow.
You roll your eyes, crossing your arms over your chest, as Kaeya continues, "His colour pallette could never replicate this, princess."
As Kaeya theatrically gestures to himself, you can't help but smirk, even as you bite down a chuckle. "Kaeya.."
"So rude.." Kaeya mutters, before he extends his hand, a celilia in his hand. "And to think I was about to give a gift o my beloved.. Fine, go ask Diluc for flowers instead!"
Since when did Kaeya have that? You haven't even walked past Flora, yet his hands were empty minutes ago..
However, unbeknownst to you, deep down, Kaeya is a touch hurt. Calling him the name of the one person he knows he could never replace? Kaeya wouldn't stop you if you randomly woke up and decided to go for Diluc instead.
Diluc's responsible. Stiff slightly, yes, but caring. Mature. Wiser than he acts. Not a drunkard. Everything Kaeya knows he can't replicate..
Thankfully for his pride, even if you don't notice, you manage him up without even realising (as always) by saying, "Don't be dramatic, you're mine, and I'm yours."
It's like you can read his mind sometimes, honestly.
So he just chuckles, kisses the plant before placing it in your hair, and intertwines his fingers with yours once more.
